Sooo....got out the yoga mat & set up in the sunroom. I did my yoga/ toning on the deck last year, but decided this was a nice, peaceful setting. I'm still surrounded by the trees & can see the birds...and I have a ceiling fan 😊 I opened the door & could hear the river. That said...I'm not as flexible or as stable as I became over time last year. So yeah.... along with the weight machines, treadmill & bike @ the Gym, this is good, too. And walking...guess it's all beneficial in it's own way.

If you'd asked me 3 years ago when I'd started, if I'd see myself down 30 lbs. & actually enjoying exercise I would have said...probably not. My original goal was to lose 10 lbs., then 20. I only thought I could lose more when I met the 20 lb. goal. I hadn't been below 155 for quite some time.

I don't have an eating disorder. I've never been over 200 lbs. But, I have yo-yo dieted up & down for many years. I ate lots of healthy foods...but I also had bad habits. I snacked & indulged in adult beverages more than I should. And I was lazy when it came to fitness. I'm not a basically lazy person, but organized exercise didn't appeal to me.

Creating better habits has put me on the path to a healthier me. I still eat good food. I don't want to eliminate meat or pasta...or desserts. But, I have figured out a way to incorporate it all without overdoing.

Everyone has to figure out their own path to success. What works for me may not work for everyone. And believe me, I'm a work in progress!

Back in March of 2020 I hit my goal. A few weeks later Covid arrived. When I heard the people most likely to get really sick, be hospitalized & possibly die were those that were older, had cormobidities & overweight, it gave me a lot of incentive to maintain that weight loss & try to be healthy. Afterall, I couldn't do anything about my age. So here we are 2 1/2 years later. No sense in changing what's working, now.

I also need to give a shout out to all the support on FS. You have helped me stay the course & I swear the spark for joining a Gym was created here 🏋

Yes, yes, and yes. All the yes to this. That's not much of a comment, I know, but you hit so many critical points, all I can say is yes!

I didn’t used to think much about exercise either but after doing it for several years I had a foot injury and it slowed me down a long while. I couldn’t believe how bad I started feeling and realized how amazing exercise is for our physical and mental well being!:)
