Keep forgetting to weigh so I’m doing this at night with my hair damp from my shower.

Down 5k cals this month so far and only lost 0.2#. I’m sleeping in until 10-noon, skipping lunch, having a decent dinner and maybe some snacking before bed around midnight to 3am. It’s summer so I feed the kids lunch when they are hungry. (A friend originally from South Africa let’s her kids feed themselves for lunch and I let mine feed themselves breakfast. May be letting them fix their own lunch so they can learn to cook! Her almost 9 year old can cook eggs several ways and for harder things her sisters help her while she watches so they all learn)

It’s also harvest so… late dinners, not so healthy as it’s good they can eat one handed on the go. Lots of sandwiches, hamburgers, hotdogs, soft tacos and fajitas with the tortillas tucked in like a burrito and tonight was homemade calzones. Lots of bread and tortillas but I found a large 45 calorie tortilla that I love so it’s not so bad. I just take one item for myself and only low calorie snacks. I’m amazed at how I’m just not hungry right now and am surviving well on 800-1500 calories lost days.

That’s being said, I know myself and my body. The hunger will come this weekend or next week and I’ll be ravenous! The key for me is to limit eating during that time. I’ve got lost of little lower calorie snacks on hand and plan to go get some fresh veggies and potatoes when it hits me. I’ll plan meals that include steamed veggies and a baked potato as sides. A loaded baked potato fills me up and keeps me full for a few hours whereas just steamed veggies has me hungry 2 hours later. I also grabbed some lettuce so I can have salads (just cheese and light Italian dressing on mine) for lunches and snacks. I’ll grate some cheese up ahead of time too so it’ll be fast and easy. I also picked up some snickers lol. I ate my last three this week. I’ve done well with making the last 6 pack of them last around a month. Not much choice as the stores haven’t been able to get them in until recently. So thank you Walmart for helping me cut back on the snickers and Hershey’s with almonds lol!

Tongue still has the bump. No change and I’m getting used to it. Pretty sure I’m biting it at night or rubbing my teeth on it. Some mornings I wake up and it’s tender but that goes away within a few minutes.

My massage therapist says since I’ve stopped lifting weights my back muscles are equalizing. My right side was more muscular and always cramping up. She doesn’t think I’ve lost much on the right but the left side has built up a tiny bit so that they are more similar. She thinks it might be from doing routine things like vacuuming more, lifting feed, doing more things in normal life that I wouldn’t think would build muscle. I’m just happy that my back hurts less even if my neck hurts just as much. She’s happy because I need to go every 4 weeks instead of every 6-8 lol. She was a lifesaver last week when I was struggling to keep a migraine at bay! Hopefully our state will let insurance start helping with massage therapy soon! My dr is willing to get me a prescription once they do. She says it’s just as beneficial as medications, around the same cost but as added benefits like relaxation and skincare. It’s only $70 for an hour plus tip since I’m a regular so it’s not a hardship to go monthly. They’d like me to go twice a month because my neck is better going that often. I just can’t see spending the extra with everything getting so expensive!

Anyhow if you read until now you are bored silly so bedtime for me and a rest for your poor eyes! Hope everyone is well!

I love my massage lady! I'm glad to hear your massages are helping you. And I thought of you this week, while I ate a Milky Way bar. 😄😋❤️

Glad you're doing so well Peeper, though I'm sorry about your neck pain. Take care of yourself.

I miss being able to get a massage. Your Dr. is correct, massage is wonderful medicine, and it sure helped me over the years. I was going once a month like you are, getting a mani-pedi about every 6 weeks, and doing something different each month, like Yoga, or a trip which always entailed sightseeing with lots of extra walking, climbing, etc. Those things kept me sane, and I think healthier overall.

Hi! Good to see you post! It would be amazing if the insurance would cover message therapy. I think ppl would be more relaxed and less aggressive if they were able to get massages more regularly :D

Thanks guys! I haven’t had one of the snickers yet but maybe tonight. Had pizza and a large salad for dinner so depends on how long I’m bloated lol. Mmm Milky Way! That used to be my favorite. The kids steal those more than snickers though so I haven’t bought any in awhile. School candy bar fundraiser and we bought 2 boxes so 120 bars to sell. Sold about 50 and the family ate the rest. Bought another box of 60 and kids had it down to 10 bars left in less than a month. And they were eating snacks on top of that and meals 🤦‍♀️

Massage therapy is great! Supposedly insurance pays for it in some states but not Oklahoma. They’ll pay for physical therapy but I could do that by myself at home. Not paying $450 a week for 6 months just doing neck exercises that I can do at home. My massage lady puts my neck in traction and that helps a lot. Only 5 minutes but that’s what they did at PT and she massages me too. She’s willing to spend most of the hour on my upper back, neck and shoulders which is great. I may book some half hour $45 massages just for my neck.

I agree! Massage, yoga, walks etc help relieve stress and keep people happier and less aggressive. My husband can get aggressive at times, but when he’s relaxed he’s much calmer! Sometimes I book massages for him or suggest we look at the cattle or something that is relaxing for him. He got be a massage table and massage gun for Christmas. I’ve received ONE massage from him. I’ve given him several and the kids too. I think I’ve given 12-15 massages already. Sometimes I just go lay on it though because that’ll help relieve the pressure in my neck occasionally. Wish it could be lowered to the floor. Then I’d sleep on the thing! But I’m afraid I’d roll off in my sleep lol. Smack!

Oh no don’t try that or you’ll have more than just nick pain! My kids are funny. They love giving messages. They consist mostly of karate chops 😂 It’s the thought that counts
