Changing my macros around (less carbs, more fat & protein) seems to be working 😊 AND I am finally in the 'normal' range for BMI (24.8)!! My concern is that BF is up...and muscle is down, despite continued exercise 🤔

That is so great. Happy for you!. I think protein is a good thing to emphasize as we get older since we are less able to utilize it but still need it to help us keep strong. You rock

You're getting there! I'll echo Tim on the complex carbs and fiber. Also, Tim -- you're not kidding about salt, sugar, and fat! I do so much home cooking out of self defense on that front!

@Tim...thank you sir!! I need to study more about complex carbs. I've already been focused on fiber and have to make a conscious effort every day to get at least 25g. Fiber One cereal is a big help with that👍😁

@writingwyo...we seldom go out to eat, but there's plenty of sodium 'culprits' to keep my eye on 👀 right here in my own pantry!!

Do you lift weights? Building muscle will help lower body fat. I think also cutting fat will help you reduce body fat as well.

Your doing awesome Crystaljo just a few tweaks hear and there onward and downwards right?
21 Mar 22 by member: buenitabishop
abbadabba -- I saw something recently about a study where people on low carb or low fat diets both lost about the same amount of weight, but those going low fat retained more muscle mass. It's something I want to research further, and I'm not making any blanket recommendations to others. I'm not a nutrition scientist, so I don't want to interfere with what works for other folks

@abbadabba...I do use very light (3 lb) dumbbells, 3-4 days per week. My upper body muscles seem to be doing ok, but my leg muscles seem to be 'wasting' despite maintaining my step count and doing cardio/strength exercises for 45 minutes/day (6 days/week) 🤷‍♀️

@buenita...Onward & downward! YES!!💙🤗🙏

@writingwyo...that's interesting! I really REALLY need to try to get into a dietitian. With all my medical issues, I could sure use some professional guidance right now. 💙
