Berberine is a well-researched supplement, and an ancient medicinal in many world cultures. It has many profound benefits, but the one that is most useful to us, is that it improves blood sugars and lowers insulin resistance.

I do intermittent fasting every day usually 16/8, starting about 3 years ago. I scared myself driving twice feeling spacy like very low blood sugar. It helps my brain (and my dieting). I continue to notice slow memory loss and have read that, at least in America, by the age of 85, 48 to 50% of people have Alzheimer's. I need my brain to be able to be independent. Sugar is the greatest detriment to keeping our brain cells, and we can slow down the progression of dementia if we are very diligent in our eating. I don't know if I am one of that 50% but I'd sure like to be independent till I slide into heaven. Erika, I left a message as a comment to my last journal. Thank you!
