mbd121's Journal, 18 Jan 22

First day of my challenge down and I didnt hit all my goals 😒😆. Hit my calories but way under in protein and I didnt drink all of my water. I went to the store for the first time in weeks (I mean REAL shopping, not just picking up a couple of things) and it took forever. I also realized that I hadnt eaten enough and started getting a headache although in hindsight it couldve been dehydration... I did a little food prep and worked in the kids room. I feel like we are NEVER going to be done in there.

I preplanned most of today but I already have to change a few things. I forgot about that part. I also forgot that even though it can feel exhausting at time, I also enjoy tracking ahead and playing with it like a puzzle.

Hey Future Me - If you're reading this then you're struggling right now. Don't Quit. Starting over sucks. Consistency works!

I can identify with the "feeling like you're never going to be done"! We paused just before our basement project was totally done. Now helping grandson get new rental ready for the big move!

It takes your body awhile to adapt to new food and fewer calories. Trust that over time not only will the habits of doing this become old hat, but the very real hormonal feedback loops in you will also shift. On Khan Acedemy web site there is an excellent presentation on “Hormone control of Hunger” https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/mcat/biomolecules/hormonal-regulation/v/hormone-control-of-hunger Also getting good sleep is nearly as important as the food for this. You body will adapt to being “done” with foods that don’t help it be your very best self. We are here to support you and can’t wait to see your story unfold.✨
