JMA312's Journal, 10 May 14

I so tired of my body being weight loss resistant. I have been on the 24 day challenge Advocare for the 10 day cleansing phase (today day #10) and I am just so frustrated. But I will keep on, because I am more tired of being 20# over the 20# overweight I am now! BUT why is it sooooo difficult for my body to let go of this weight! I know I shouldn't look at the scale but my clothes are telling me also, my butt, my middle and my legs are just so FAT. I'm just so tired right now. I just want to craw under the covers and sleep and wake up 20# or more less.
BUT I have other responsibilities, I am the full time primary caregiver of my 88 year old mother. She has Alzheimers and that is frustrating. I am just so tired of STUFF right now.

Don’t be so hard on yourself, maybe you should not be trying to lose so much weight just now, losing weight is a stressor and if you have other stresses in your life it can be very hard, try going out for long walks cardio helps with stress.

Yes, stress can be really hard on our bodies. It can raise cortisol levels making it more difficult to lose. I wish I had an easy answer for you. Being a caregiver can be very difficult. You need to find ways of carving out time for yourself. Maybe check with local churches or ask around for some help.

thank you all for your comments. It is helpful to know there are those out there that understand and have caring sincere comments. I feel a little better this afternoon. I was 'true to me' today and stayed with my program, it was difficult but eventually I know this is the 'turn around' stage for me and I need to do this for me. I will be strong and yes I know I need to walk. I did mow the lawn so that was quite a bit of exercise, plus I had a long talk with myself. I am really trying to get in touch with ME and uncover a lot of issues I've had in the past. I feel this is a journey and I know it is towards a better me. It will just take a constant and conscious effort on my part. But I am worth it! I really only have myself to answer to, so I need to make the questions and answers count for ME.

Every pound is a struggle sometimes. Our bodies are fickle and are afraid they are starving so they won't let go. My fat is like it's holding on for dear life at the edge of a cliff, then BOOM it will let go unexpectedly. Next week or so it starts holding on again. You do have a lot going on in your life right now, so difficult to focus on you and what you need, but you are blessed for being the daughter you are for your mom. I have elderly parents too and I know there's a day coming they will not be able to take care of themselves any longer, and I've got to be ready for that transition and all it entails.

JMA312, It would help you IMMENSELY IF YOU STOPPED THE NEGATIVE INTERNAL DIALOGUE WITH YOUR BODY.... [Every time you say or think: 'I am FAT!' you are 'placing your order to the Universe;' and it WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU ASK FOR... [like attracts like...] The end result being that YOU WILL REMAIN OVERWEIGHT. [Your body will be 'fat'.] It would behoove you to start to lovingly embrace your beautiful, strong body, and APPRECIATE all the things it enables you to do... [a good website for insight and suggestions is: dianepetrella.com Her newsletter, Living Lightly, has led me down the wonderful, peaceful path of SELF ACCEPTANCE.] We MUST be thankful for what we have, BEFORE the Universe will help us change it. STAY FOCUSED. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Sometimes our biggest enemy is the organ between our ears - the brain. So, fake it until you make it..... keep telling yourself positive things and eventually you will begin to believe what you are saying. Reinforce the positive; eliminate the negative....
