SherryeB's Journal, 25 Sep 21

I finished out the day 38 calories over, yesterday. Not too bad, since Hubby & I had a tiff & we separated into different rooms to cool off. 😒 I still had wine from dinner to sip and decided on some Dark chocolate with blueberries & a bunch of grapes for dessert. I was a bit agitated so it could have gone either way....I could have skipped dessert altogether (which was actually the way I was leaning) or overdone it. So, I watched 3 episodes of Grace & Frankie then went to bed. I read til around 2 AM...my book is getting close to the end & is good! I decided I better turn off the lamp & get some sleep. I laid there a little while before I finally dozed off.

He went off to run errands not long after I got up & was gone for awhile. He did kiss me goodbye & when I called to check in later he said I love you ❤ I'm usually the one to "get over it" first...I'm a pretty forgiving person. 😊

We walked the dogs together this afternoon. We went a little earlier so we missed the deer. They've been crossing the road in front of us most nights.

I defrosted a Flat Iron steak & Hubby said he'd grill it when I asked if he wanted to do that or should I cook it inside. I think he's trying to be nice.

I was looking forward to watching "Goliath" on Amazon last night...so we can watch tonight.

Time to feed the dogs & decide what else we're having with the steak. 🥩🫂

I love that you say things like you "decided" on some dark chocolate... When I get emotional, I don't have the presence of mind to stop and decide what to eat. I just start going through the kitchen, opening cabinets, opening the refrigerator, eating whatever presents itself first. I need to remember to stop and "decide" exactly what I want. Also, I can't imagine what your "tiff" was about - you don't seem like the type that has many tiffs.

I hesitated to share my story....some might say TMI...we don't need to hear you argued with your husband. Even if we don't share it, I'd say most of us have disagreements with our spouse, boyfriend, significant other. And that can send us spiraling down the rabbit hole....eating or drinking to make ourselves feel better. But then we feel bad cause we ate or drank too much. I shared cause that was what was on my mind when I sat down to journal. I'm happy my thoughts were met with a positive response 😊

Larilyn, I think my ability to maintain my weight loss is because I have become mindful of what I put in my mouth...most of the time. I do have cravings but I try to stop & think about it before giving into them. And I may eat whatever I crave, but I usually measure out a serving and know that is what I'm going to eat. I do have conversations with myself....negotiating how I can eat whatever it is I'm craving 😏

Glad you shared 👍 I'm sure I "annoy the crap out of my wife" regularly even after 30 years of marriage
