I have had this too, and usually I'm a champion sleeper!! I think the fat burn may produce a different metabolic response, which keeps me awake. In particular, I notice a lot more tummy growl and just noises in my body which are very unusual. I wonder if kick starting that fat burn, rather than the quick break down of carbs means the body is working harder and more unsettled? Anyhoo I hope it stabilises, because drifting off at 3/4 am is not what I am used to, and means its tough to get going in the mornings, which is hateful really. However, having said that, I'm very much more alert during the day and feel way more energised. I have really lost that late morning and mid afternoon sluggishness which sometimes affected me in the past. But being alert and awake after midnight is not the best!!

Yes, I think fat burning releases adrenaline, and that makes for energized days and sleepless nights.
