59Carol's Journal, 12 Jun 21

Good morning Saturday! Today I have a modest loss to report - 0.8 pounds down. Since I lost over 2 pounds last week, I am pleased with this loss. Sometimes after a big loss the following week can rebound up a bit.

This week I ate fairly much on program. I am a bit concerned that I am under by about 100 calories on average. I don't intend to eat that much on the low side. Keep in mind, I arrange for a deficit in the first place. Basically I plan for a certain amount of nut intake and then in the morning subtract off what I didn't eat. This is leaving me in a greater deficit than I prefer however I want the 'freedom' to eat the nuts if I wish.... Catch 22.

I have been gardening this past week. This is a picture of me coming up the porch steps after 3.5 hours of gardening. It is my reflection in the patio window. I impulsively took it to send to my kids to say I was a tired mama from all the digging and planting. I thought it turned out well. It shows both my progress and the reasonableness in losing another 10 pounds to get out of the 'overweight' category.

As of Wednesday, I am fully vaccinated! I was fortunate in that I had absolutely no side effects either shot. I am hoping this will translate into some freedom to come and go this summer.

Work continues on my rental properties. It is looking great! My one renter moved out yesterday as she just bought a house. Now I need to find another good renter.

The sun is shining and all is good in my world!

Thank you INF. With a large weight loss there is that time period when you are learning to recognize yourself when seeing yourself unexpectedly in mirrors. This was one of those moments for me!

INF- yes and no. There can be a real disconnect. I had gotten used to seeing myself at 270 (or at my very highest 320!). Seeing that new person in the mirror and believing it was actually me was disconcerting. I found that the more I looked at and accepted with affection the person in the mirror as I lost weight the easier it was to accept myself at a much lower weight. Right now I am edging into territory that I have literally not weighed for more than 40 years. It is scary on a certain level because it is the unknown. I know that a healthy weight will likely land somewhere around 135 to 140 pounds. I haven't weighed that since I was a teenager. I am approaching this stage literally one pound at a time.
