5/23

W: 45.9kg, F: 17.2%, M: 36.1kg

I usually eat a boiled egg and have some coffee for breakfast.
My husband didn’t eat a cup of white rice for breakfast yesterday that he said he would eat. Instead he had a bowl of stew.

I didn’t want to waste the rice and wanted to know the effect of “ Resistant Starch”. So I just ate it without reheat.
I ate some cheese, chicken, poke, a cup of stew and salad for late lunch and a blueberry muffin for dessert yesterday. I was skeptical if resistant starch show me something good effect because I ate lots of foods.

My weight was 45.7kg yesterday and 45.9kg this morning. Wow! It worked!!
45.9 kg Lost so far: 0 kg.    Still to go: 1.9 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.
Gaining 1.4 kg a Week

Pasta, rice and potatoes do not loose their resistant starch status when reheated. You can cook all three of these several days ahead if you like and reheat without altering that resistant state

To Kenna: Thank you for your comment. Have you tried to eat it and felt what your body react? I always try first and see how my body changed.

No I don’t actually feel anything different but then my way of eating is slightly on the heavier carb side by choice. I try to stay at about 150 gm. Carbs don’t bother me. One of the big pluses to resistant starches is for diabetics. They do not tend to raise blood sugars like freshly cooked rice, pasta or potatoes. I have a lot of people in my world who are diabetic and it works for them.

I thought resistant starch is for losing weight and weight control. Could you tell me what does it works on you? I just can't understand even reading it for 3 times, sorry🥺

To Kenna:Good morning. Thank you for your comment again. My carb target is up to 50mg per day, but weekends. My husband loves sweets things (and other carbohydrate, like Ramen noodle) more than I thought. So I enjoy something sweet and bitter coffee with him every weekends morning. Life is short, why not. LOL. However, I really feel something different like my body is watery after eating those things. If I have 150mg of carb like you do, it’s heavy for me. Each person’s body is not same. I always try something new and see what is best for me. Thank you for shearing your information. Have a good day.

To Ajisai_Chan: Thank you for your comment. I’m sorry I did not explain well. Even I ate cold rice (resistant starch), I ate lots of foods plus big blueberry muffin. I thought my scale showed the number over 46kg, but it was only a little over (only 0.2kg up). That’s why I thought the cold rice was worked for my body. Please see my weight on 5/24. It is 46.2kg, and 45.9kg on 5/23. I ate another blueberry muffin again, but not cold rice. By the way, are you Japanese? Because your handle name is Ajisai (= hydrangea)

Resistant starches are starches that have been made more difficult for the body to digest and process once they have been cooled. That slows down their Impact on blood sugar decreases the flood of instant sugar. This affects us all, diabetic or not. It is one more tool to add to your weight control tool box and blood sugar control kit.. time to do a little research so you understand some of these concepts. Unfortunately it is not enough to just do what others are doing. Understanding and knowledge is power.
