“Greetings and Salutations..!” Hope you are all well on this fine Thursday. I’m Dilia from NYC. I had stumbled upon an old journal & read an entry of how frustrated I was for going over my calories on FatSecret. That was back in the 2000’s when I weighed 207 lbs. Of course, I deemed that FS wasn’t working for me. So I left.
After that, I tried every single diet & workout available. Needless to say, those didn’t work either. “Oh no! What’s going on?” I thought constantly. “I’m always going to be a fat pig fat!” 🥺😢. Yeah! Those were my thoughts. Let’s fast forward to September 2018, the morning of my 48th birthday when the scale flashed 215.6 lbs. 😳 Well, I took a shower, had a huge breakfast & went to get a facial. 😶 Later, in a restaurant, by myself, I took a few selfies (See 1st picture of my profile) & vowed to start self-care ASAP. I didn’t say lose weight, get Fit or become a Hot Mamacita! I said I AM GOING TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!
That made a difference! WHY?! I simply learned to recognize the negative energy of those around me & I removed myself from their presence. I eliminated the BS guilt I was carrying for no reason. I listened to how my body felt. I took my intuitive messages to heart. I stopped listening to unsolicited advice. I stopped berating myself. I started being more forgiving & loving towards myself. I accepted there are things, people & circumstances that I was never going to change or bring back. I prioritized my feelings & desires instead of working hard at making others feel better. I learned to say NO without shame. I lauded my life, all the time. & most importantly, I did & do whenever, wherever, however & whatever my lil’ ❤️ desires. 😊
I practice intermittent fasting because eating 3 meals & 2 snacks doesn’t work for me. I aim to be active, at least, 4 days a week. I drink lots of water. Sometimes I eat under my daily calories allowances, other times I eat over 3,000 calories in a day & it’s ok! “Tomorrow is another day!” Getting healthy doesn’t have a time-frame. It is a part of life, an unique journey that only I, anyone of us, can make it work. Yesterday, i reached a long sought after goal. I weigh 174.4 lbs. I’m happy but the work doesn’t end here. I want to get to 170 lbs & I also want to continue working on myself to have the healthiest & most meaningful life for myself & everyone around me. This journey of losing lbs is not really about counting calories or eliminating food groups. It’s ok to switch it up once in a while but it’s not worth getting obsessive about it. I know we all are very accomplishing & wonderful people here. Let’s focus on the that! We are renting space on this beautiful planet of ours. Let’s not wasted worrying about useless things. Let’s get healthier, mind, body & soul & BE HAPPIER ABOUT LIFE! 🤗😘🥰
79.1 kg Lost so far: 14.8 kg.    Still to go: 6.5 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

@Ridemariel @Anacet. Awww! Thank you so much! I’m happy you liked my entry . I was inspired to share it here. It’s taken me 31 months to lose 41.2 lbs. it’s been slow & steady. I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s been an interesting journey. The last loss was a surprised. This is the most I’ve ever lost at once. I’m happy & happier to be part of this community again. I love the energy here! I’m so ready for y’all now. 😊🤗🥰😘

It’s been a long-bumpy ride but, oh so worth it! Coming back to FS is part of that ride since I was not ready for it before. I want to continue making conscious decisions, not only in my diet, but also how I deal/interact with others who may be on a similar path. Now, living during this tumultuous time, I feel that we need one another even more to get through the day. If FS is the platform for us, let’s grab it & make a little less tumultuous for us. I am so full of gratitude for the welcoming (back)! You guys rock!
