Well darn it! I not only gained 1.4 pounds this week but I also lost my blue line! I am never pleased to report a gain however I do know exactly what happened on the weight front and therefore I know how to deal with it.

I fell into a bag of trail mix - the kind with two kinds of raisins plus dried cranberries. Mostly dried fruit.

I think I handled things relatively well. After the second day of no restraint, I removed it from my counter and put it in a cupboard inside a closed container so it was a few more steps to allow myself time to reconsider. After two days of eating less but still too much of it yet not willing to actually throw it away I added it to my oatmeal mix so that I only get a small amount each morning in my oatmeal. It is no longer accessible to eat by the handfuls!

This week it is back to my regular eating habits minus the trail mix. I expect that I will be clocking in a loss of some sort next week.

Although our temperatures have been hovering around freezing, I woke up this morning to a thick blanket of snow. I will be shoveling my deck off soon.

Out of sight, out of mind! Thats a great idea adding it to your oatmeal! I don't like oatmeal much but I recently started adding sweetened cranberries and coconut flakes to it. I love it! And I don't need to add sugar because the fruit and coconut are super sweet!

I think you got it backwards, the trail mix fell into you 🤪

You are too funny LambiePi! It did something that is for darn sure! Bearnoggin - I am the oatmeal queen. I was the principal of an Outreach school where I made a hot breakfast for the students every morning. Their absolute favorite was my oatmeal. Many of the kids thought they didn't like oatmeal until they ate mine. Here is the recipe: Use Roger's Porridge Oats or Roger's Ancient Grains as they are both a mixture of grains. Take one third cup of oats and add 1 cup of cold water to it. Cook on the stove on low on my stove it is '2'. Stir occasionally don't over do it. When the water is absorbed and it is a consistency you like pour it over fresh or frozen fruit. Top with what you like - I usually sprinkle some nuts on top. Viola! Wonderful oatmeal. The oat to water proportions I just gave are not what it says on the package. Don't worry my way is the best!
