So, it's a long journey! I have been trying to lose at least part of the weight I gained during my depression last year, while keeping a healthy mindset. Since I used to struggle with anorexia and bulimia when I was at the beginning of my 20s, I have to watch myself to not start to obsess about this, and it is going great so far. I first lost 15 pounds last year, just by exercising a bit more and cutting down the worst foods for me (transformed sugar, mostly) but then I got stuck and even gained back a little. I have a VERY slow metabolism, and balancing my diet has always been the hard part. I think I gain weight just looking at bread :) But this month, I decided it was enough, read a lot and tried going low carbs, which demanded courage since pasta and bread were my go-to foods. What I found is a) I feel 10x less bloated than I used to, b) I've been losing a steady 1,5lbs a week while keeping mass, c) I have a lot more energy in the morning and d) I don't even miss sugar and most carbs and I did not know it could be possible. So, it is the first time here, but I felt like sharing a bit of my small victories. It feels sometimes hard going through this alone, but patience and perseverance do pay! I wish you the same, and a great week-end too. Keep it up, guys!
