Didn't weigh but did measure ketones. Up from 2.2 to 2.7 this week. Off time to measure doing at 2:30am but knew I was still in ketosis. Just my OCD coming out. I will note in ketosis for almost 2 months straight now.

Speaking of ketosis & all things low carb, fat & protein, a MUST WATCH for anyone who wants a great refresher or introduction to the low carb lifestyle is a new movie on Amazon called Fat Fiction. Its memorable for many things. One of the most notable...doctors admitting they were wrong to counsel patients to follow the nutrionary recommendations of the food guide, doctors who themselves suffer from obesity, pre diabetes condition changing their lives through a low carb lifestyle. If nothing else, its more knowledge for anyone wanting to understand better how this all works. Its in large part a reiteration of books like Dr Fungs without having to read a book!

Where I'm at today in my eating is definitely eating a low carb lifestyle..not pure keto..not pure carnivore but leaning more carnivore right now for sure. I still am reading in terms of what is most filling a debate whether its protein..or fat which seems to depend which side of the fence you are on. What both sides agree on is carbs are bad. Then you get into the debate of processed carbs vs natural carbs. One of the things that struck me about Fat Fiction as a noted Dr said, is that carbs are not essential to your dietary needs like good fats or protein. You can literally cut them to zero & no harm will come of it. Which leads me to an interest in trying to get to zero carbs but I have a feeling for me, it would be a unsustainable as a lifestyle. I will for kicks do some reading to see how you could do it, even what I call the perfect low carb meal by a macro balance, bacon & eggs has carbs. I had keto mongolian beef for my OMAD today & eating basically beef with salt only for seasoning vs beef with the flavourings that made that mongolian beef is no comparison in terms of satisfaction. But, I will investigate this further to give it fair due. What I do know is realistic is targeting 10g-15g of carbs daily. I would like to get down to 10g or less until I get to my target weight anyway. Thats where keto carnivore may be of benefit..plus maintaining if not adding muscle. I just have zero interest in exercise beyond cardio aside from things that naturally give me a muscle workout. Working on my truck for almost 7 solid hours 2 days ago gave me a workout I'm still feeling today, I must admit.

Finally, while my weight loss has slowed down, I believe my shape continues to change. One thing I notice often these days and how much they've changed is...my legs. When I sit down or I'm lying down, I notice their definition on the outer thigh if that makes any sense. The other thing is noticing the veins in my hands & under my forearm. I tend to have a hard time giving blood because as I've often been told, I have "thick skin". I often wonder if thats just a polite way of saying "you're fat"!

Finally found a recipe for keto bulgogi beef. I lovvvve korean beef so I'm excited to try this. I will cook it up on my grill tonight so its ready for eating tomorrow morning. marinade for at least 24 hours. I will do for 36 hours. Basically its soy sauce, touch of ginger, fresh garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, Swerve to sweeten & sesame oil. The marinade tastes amazing so I'm excited. 3g of carbs per serving.

Looking at your weigh history graph. I'm loving that downward trend. You are amazingly consistent. Keep up the good work.

Its thought provoking for sure. As an online friend notes not every carb is bad but the movie is about so much more than low carb eating.

Love keto but had to quit due to lack of fibre and impaction because of that. The weight loss and freedom from cravings was wonderful. But getting enough fibre in a 10-carb day was a problem for me. Psyllium wasn't enough, nor were stool softeners. Do you have a problem with this, or, better yet, do you know of a no-carb way to get enough fibre?

Bonney, I think I understand your concern. I have IBS & one of my worst fears in changing diet & fasting is constipation. The only thing aside from laxatives (dangerous long term btw) is metamucil powder seems to work pretty good for me.

Loved your post and can identify with your weight loss journey, and also your love for Korean ribs. Im basically OMAD with one 40hr fast a week. I was Keto for awhile but found in my deprivation of healthy carbs- it was more like a diet. It took strong motivation to stay away from a tasty potato . So I have added carbs into my OMAD - popcorn is a definite go to. I more or less let myself have in my eating window what I desire. My weight loss has slowed but my body continues to firm. I like you grin when I can now see the muscle in my thigh. IF and OMAD can be an easy way to live I find. Someone who has written in this is Gin Stephans Delay, Don’t Deny. She also has another book just about to be released. Thanks for the info on Fat Fiction. I look forward to watching it.

Thank you thank you thank you. I just bought Fat Fiction film and wow wow wow. I was already a believer in 1972 with my first Dr. Atkins book and I lived through the next 40 years of people telling me I was killing myself, that Atkins was a con man, that the 'scientists' said....all I knew was for the first time in my life I was on a diet that 1) worked, 2) I WAS NOT HUNGRY ALL DAMNED DAY, EVERY DAY AND NIGHT. Of course, I have fallen off and regained and lost and regained. Atkins is not a magic bullet if YOU don't change.

Thank you Aurora and Charades. The movie is just one more piece of puzzle right and for me helps affirm what I am doing. I very much enjoyed it too. In regards to OMAD & IF, I agree. Neither are difficult to do, once you train yourself to do them!

So great to see someone so passionate about eating low carb. I just love this lifestyle. I also started with Atkins. Still like his advice. But I have learned lot from the Keto people as well. I will check out Fat Fiction... maybe tonight. And thanks for the recipe.

I like Weight Watchers diet, I lost 69 lbs in 3 years which is OK! Still have 24.5 lbs to go to reach my goal. I figure it I lose slowly, I hope I can keep it off. Also with Weight Watchers you can eat anything you like as long you keep within your Smart Points (Mine is 23 Smart Pts/day + 35 extra Pts in a week. Most days I don't even use my 23 Smart Pts. I heard Keto diet, hard to keep weight off when you go back to eating normal.
