59Carol's Journal, 25 Apr 20

This was quite the month on the weight front. Generally I am slow and steady and usually post a loss. This month there were big swings - two weeks I gained a total of 3.6 pounds and then I lost a total of 3.4 pounds the other two weeks which ended April with a gain of 0.2 pounds. Not exactly what I like to see and not the usual norm. This week I fluctuated 2 pounds with the lowest weight 1.2 pounds less than this morning's weigh in. Seemed like my week reflected the month!

What I know going forward - measuring my intended snacks first thing in the morning is a really good idea. Becoming increasingly aware of when I am deviating from my planned food intake and paying closer attention to portion sizes are key to success. Also straying from my routines doesn't normally go well in the long run!

This all said and analyzed I am planning for a more successful (weight wise) month in May. I do know what needs to be done. It will help that I have quite a bit of outside work to do. The snow is now gone and soon so will the mud.

Today I am having my custom cabinets for my study and laundry room installed. They were dropped off last night. I am so pleased. They look beautiful. I can hardly wait to see them installed and organized. They mark the last thing to be done to complete my main floor renos! I am so enjoying my home with all the renos done since last March. I will try to remember to take pictures of everything for next week's weigh in.

For those who are interested my lovely Bengal cat and I are continuing to bond. She is skittish when her routines are interrupted especially if 'strangers' come to the house. Yesterday, I discovered she is a catnip girl!

It's so difficult to maintain a normal routine with all that's going on in the world right now. You're doing great. How exciting that your new cabinets are ready for installation. Looking forward to the pictures. Take care and stay safe. And enjoy your new companion.
