59Carol's Journal, 14 Feb 20

I am weighing in a day early. I leave today for Edmonton. I don't plan to bring my scale with me so will not be weighing in tomorrow. I do intend to track my eating while I am away and will weigh in on Monday morning to see where things are at. I find eating in Edmonton to be a challenge especially when I travel with my daughter and her family. They tend to choose interesting and often high calorie foods that I want to eat! I will have to practice restraint.

At least this week I am logging in a loss that is slightly greater than the gain of last week. This looks better than it is. I had 3 high calorie days and then was doing a rear guard action of trying to compensate by eating lower. This is so not an ideal way to go. It is much better to consistently eat within my window as that is plenty of food and the body isn't zigzagging around. My perfect week is one that sails right in the calorie window every day! With my trip to Edmonton I don't know if that will be the case this week. I will aim to do it but know that it may not work out that way!

Renos are slowly drawing to a close. The fellows hoped to be done this past Wednesday. Then by Thursday. They will be working here today and may be doing a bit on Saturday. When I come home on Sunday all should be done and I can get into some serious cleaning and arranging! That is going to be so much fun to do!

I like the zig-zag. Helps my head to have a high calorie day. I don't mind the low calorie days then. The high calorie day still need to not be in a surplus though or not a big one at least. Have fun in Edmonton! :)

LZenn you have really made the zigzag work for you. I find that I am like a new driver who is over correcting and finding myself careening off the road! Unfortunately my high calorie days are definitely not in a calorie deficit when I do them. So then it is into over correcting....

I never know when my high calorie days come...and I am a big planner so it drives me crazy. Usually a last minute decision to go to lunch...or RM brings home chocolates. Like LZenn, I try to stay in my window too. Have fun on your trip! Relax before facing the cleanup! :0)

Well, I am back and I certainly felt like I ate like a crazy person. Lots of Middle Eastern food - curries, pakora, and things I don't know the names of but all tasted amazing. Also had some less stellar food - food court and breakfast place that used to be amazing but sold and was awful! In the end I have 2.4 pounds to pull off. I am so very relieved to be eating 'normally' again. My body is loving going back to ingrained routines. Renos -- so darn close I believe today there is some caulking, looking at a light fixture and then a big clean up in my garage. Then done!! Place looks great. Looking forwards to 'moving in' today!
