59Carol's Journal, 08 Feb 20

I truly hate logging in a gain. This week one full pound. According to my data I was within the window and should have lost. Saying that I was in town every single day this week which meant there was some eating out and me guesstimating what I was eating. Based on the results, I must have been guesstimating low.

I continue to show my place to get it rented. So far two interested people. One is a maybe and the other is available to rent in month after it is ready. So I will keep on showing it. Showing it isn't the issue, it is that I have a 40 min drive each way that makes it a bigger deal!

My tile is all in and grouted!!! Very exciting. It looks great. The fellows expect that they will have a short week next week to finish up the last of the job. It has been wonderful seeing all the trim going up and the final touches being done. Two 'biggish' items left to be done and a bunch of 'small' pieces. So close!

Today is my grandson's 13th birthday party. He asked me to make an Oreo cheesecake. My gosh is it ever decadent. According to the recipe it is 800 calories for 1/14th of a cake. I think I will have a forkful to see how it turned out and that is it! He also wants sushi for his meal so we will be doing the chopping and cutting this afternoon. He is having 3 guests - his cousins. Then me, my sister and my father in law and the cousin's mom plus the rest of my daughter's family.

Off to go do policy work this morning for our local Women's Shelter. So my day is very full!

Could be just water. I gain a pound or two every time I have a shopping day. It's like clockwork. If you were in a deficit, you lost fat. You'll see. :)

Hang in there. Food we eat when out can have a lot of hidden sodium and stuff that make us hold on to water. If you are consistent with RDI, then it WILL come off. Fun watching all of the renovations come to fruition. So glad you had special time with your grandson. Hope it was a Happy Birthday! Good for you helping with the shelter. Way to go! :0)

Our bodies have their own rhythms, you're doing great and it will happen. My rule for desserts is three bites, eaten slowly and savored. Enjoy the party and family! Nice to hear about the house.

All of you are so supportive! It is a joy to read your encouraging words. Eating out has so many pitfalls - salt and just plain not knowing what exactly is in the food. Shirfleur I should have worked on your system of three bites. I had more than that for sure. It was ridiculously delicious as one person said, "If you are going to eat 800 calories this is what you should be eating!" I think I ate about 400 calories of it. It was good but I am glad I left it at their house and not in mine! Renos will be done this coming week. I will see about taking some pictures - before and after to share.
