59Carol's Journal, 25 Jan 20

There! I did it! I ate within the window of calories I have set for myself and lo and behold I lost a full pound! The last two weeks I had small gains. One of those weeks I ate under the calorie window and the other I ate over the window. Seems to me that I need to just stay in the window.

My renos continue and and are looking quite wonderful. I think I have two more weeks and my whole main floor will be renoed and done. That is going to be wonderful. I have had one glitch so far around tile amounts but am working with the company to come to a solution. Hope to have that cleared up on Monday.

Tried to start my taxes. I use a computer program to do them and have done it this way for years and years. This year I had to say I have been widowed and my husband is deceased. The program allows me to say I am widowed but no where does it allow me to say Dave has died. I sent a question into them but their word recognition program did not recognize my question, the virtual assistant web page is down so I tried calling. I was on hold for one hour and forty minutes when I finally hung up. I have emailed them the question. No reply. This is so darn emotional and I feel so incredibly frustrated by this. I hope it is cleared up on Monday as well.

Today I am going to a funeral for the husband of a good friend. He was 45 when he died in a vehicle accident.

All will get sorted out, I have no doubt. At least the weight front wasn't a hurdle this time around!

Gah - taxes are hard enough without having to go through that frustration. Good luck with it! And AWESOME job on the pound down! Yeah, when we do what we know works, it works. :)

First of all...congrats on the loss and dedication to your RDI. Next, I'm sorry you have to deal with customer service problems that have to do with your husband's passing...people should be sensitive to such and give you top service. You are doing well. Take care! :0)

Since you have plenty of time before April, let me suggest you go to your local IRS office with your questions. My mom has done this a number of times and as long as you're not waiting until the last minute, they're usually rather helpful and they've always been super sweet to her.

Thank you to all of you. I appreciate your kindness and support to my ranting and frustration. LZenn you are so right: that what works just plain works! The taxes are very frustrating. Katsolo I am in Canada and so I don't have a local office. Maybe there are offices in the big cities but those are many many hours drive away. Since it is a computer program, I need them to answer my question because it is somewhere in the program itself. It wouldn't be a big deal expect I am having to deal with my own emotions as well as general frustration with a program. For now, I just need to breathe and approach this slowly. I will try again tomorrow.

Thanks Binky. I am on to this today since the computer people have not contacted me yet.

Carol, I hesitate to ask this as I don't want to sound insensitive, but, when you tell them you are widowed, doesn't that mean that your husband has died? I'm so sorry you are having to struggle with this, it must be very difficult. I hope you get it resolved soon. Changing the subject, nice to hear your renovations are coming to an end, and are turning out so well. And, congrats on the weight loss, you are a phenomenal woman!

Shirfleur -- you would think that one would lead to the other! I did conquer the darn program. I had to go into a help spot and then click on a hyper link to get where I needed to be. It is now done. When all the renos are done I will take some pictures and share them.

Good for you, solving the problem and getting it done! One more thing you can put behind you. Looking forward to the reno pictures.
