Recent NSV’s:

Signed up for the gym for the first time in my life, and went for the first time today😅 I have been struggling with PTSD, anxiety, and grief, so this is a big deal for me.

I got a free body scan when I arrived, and found out I have 15% body fat.

My pants are tight in the calves, thighs, and glutes, and looser in the waist.

51.0 kg Lost so far: 24.3 kg.    Still to go: 0 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

LeiLei- I think it takes a few months but I have noticed a big improvement in my mood since going to the gym regularly. I think it will really help with your anxiety. I have had anxiety in the past and it is basically obsolete at this point. Good for you! Hope you love it!

I have always been a yogi and have tried to go to the gym a few times , but was always overwhelmed and ended right back on the yoga mat. good luck and let us know how it goes ❣❣❣

Yes JC. It’s tough, but we do our best everyday, and can only take one moment at a time (or at least we try, right?).

Thanks Princess😊 Do you mean your overall anxiety, or your anxiety about the gym? I workout 5-6 days a week at home. It has definitely lowered my anxiety for sure. I call it my natural anti-depressant. I also use CBD oil (yay CO!). I’m still struggling though. I did have way more fun at the gym than I expected! The more I can say f-it, and forget about everybody else, the better. Probably after a few more visits I’ll be more comfortable I hope. I’m just kind of a hot mess lately😆

I hear ya yogagnosis.....I have always enjoyed working out at home on my yoga mat. I have been in modern dance classes growing up, as well as belly dance and African dance. I’m not used to the gym atmosphere. We’ll see how it goes! I’ll keep you posted. I did a hip hop dance class on Saturday when I went. It was fun for sure. Still need to build my confidence in the weight lifting and machine area😂

Anxiety- just generalized anxiety disorder- not from the gym. But there were a couple times last year that I was having a panic attack there and just had to sit with it a minute and let it do it's thing and wait to calm down. But yes- definitely working out has helped immensely- just took a few months of regular attendance to really notice that I am in a way better place! A couple more visits and you can walk in like you own the place! Until then- just fake it! :P

We use Anytime fitness. they have cardio and strength training classes. also yoga. We can't get into the yo ya thing. We have an advantage plan and the membership is included at no charge. So that makes it even better.

Good for you! Here’s the thing about getting comfortable in the gym... walk in like you own the place but remember to set your own standard. Working out is intensely personal because you are there for YOU and nobody else. Immerse yourself in yourself when you’re there and you’ll fall in love with it. Great job!

Congrats for braving it. It sounds like it was good for you. PTSD can be so hard! Were you in the military or other issues? I get it as have PTSD from spouse abuse, many think it is only military related.. Most don't understand the triggers as they can often be very different from most people's norms. I hope that most of your life is stable and it doesn't flare often.
