Lisa Online's Journal, 22 Aug 10

Sunday:) Good Morning it's 6am and my batteries are recharged. I went to bed around eleven o'clock and realized my muscles were very tight and sore, especially my lower back area from bending over and picking things up, and other household chores. I also sat in this chair a lot in between loads of laundry or at other breaking points. Yesterday was most excellent as I had the doors and windows open, could breath in fresh air all day while I focused on beautifying my living space and it is looking so much better!

I am happy to report in that upon waking up I am feeling better, the soreness/tightness is gone. One huge difference that exercise, and weight loss has brought into my life is the ease of getting out of bed. I used to have such a struggle and didn't even realize it until I developed these great muscles that I love to stretch with before I rise out of bed. Ohhhh... how wonderful it feels. My butt even has musles that I can control to help leverage my 5'4" frame from horizontal to vertical lol.

July 8th was the day I took a good buddies advice and started weighing in every day instead of weekly because I had been a plateau for several weeks. That was the change I needed plus another change that I incorporated into my day. I don't weigh in until after my workout,(huge motivator to get some cardio in) because usually after a good hour of "Dancing with the Stairs" I am at my best weight for the day. It is so cool how well that has worked out for me and I am happy to report I broke the plateu, moved into my 50's and lost a total of about 8 wonderful pounds since I made these adjustments.

Losing weight is so different for me this time around. I started feeling better right away, I felt good about myself from 193 to 192 and the difference is instead of focusing on the number I have been focusing on my energy level. Today looks like it is going to be another Good day, here I am up and Adam at 6AM, already weighed in as I don't think I'll make it to the gym today because I chose today as a day of rest from the gym, unless I decide differently later. I really am getting addicted to my hour of cardio. I also do some strength training and yoga. It is amazing how fast my body has healed itself and am glad I decided to put my mind in the place where I am taking care of myself so that I can payback how good I am feeling and go out into the world with a huge smile and make a difference in someone else's world. Good job on your consistent, wonderful weight loss!! I am so glad that you are on a roll!! Focusing on our mental, spiritual, and physical state is so much more rewarding that simply associating our success to a number on a scale. I should paste your first paragraph on a small card and read it every time before I do housework...getting started is a sacrifice but, as you've described, the feelings afterward are so wonderful !! Also using a "hook" for getting in your cardio has got me thinking, too, lol. Keep on keeping on Lisa!! Peace. (PS: I left a post on your Aug 21 journal).

I like your tooting of your own horn :). I think the world would be a better place if more people felt proud of ourselves for a job well. And clearly you are doing a wonderful job :). It does feel different when you are doing it FOR yourself instead of any other reason. Let's celebrate now! Woohooooooo!!! :)

Lisa - You are amazing. Sunday morning here, I showered, came downstairs and SAT with my cup of coffee, trying to figure out what I was going to do. Reading your journal is totally inspiring. I have to admit I was not feeling like you. We have a Sleep Number bed and the pump is shot. Therefore, until they come with a new pump, my bed is hard and very uncomfortable to sleep on. Woke up sore. I'm cooking a nice vegetable soup for dinner this afternoon, very low in everything and all fresh (except for the canned black beans). Can't wait. I guess the highlight to my day was my weight. What a lift!! I think before I do anything everyday, I need to read your journal. What a pick-me-up it is! Glad you are here and you are doing absolutely the right thing. Congrats Lisa and have a great (or greater) day (if that's possible). :-)

Wow Lisa! What an amazing journal and how awesome you are doing. It feels so good when we really start to notice the great differences these lifestyle choices are making for us. Makes us all the more motivated to keep moving on. I am so happy for you. I'm glad the switch to a daily weigh in is helping you and the best part is you are getting addicted to your cardio!!!
