Now it's time to experiment with losing another 11 pounds. Now, my BMI is 32 which is considered overweight. How is that possible?! I have no idea, well I do have an idea but Im not diving that way right now. I want to have a BMI that is normal, not underweight or anything like that nd that is my standpoint as of now. Who knows what my thoughts will be in the future! Today I like onions, tommorow I may not! Anyways, before I get on a tangent have a good night FS folks and I will be back tommorow.

I think Diablo said something once about your BMI possibly being off if you work out with weights.

BMI is mostly BS.. I'm also >30, I will never chase a BMI number 😉

Wow, great drop!! Instead of BMI, try the waist to height ratio, it’s a better indicator of health. Diablo just posted about it yesterday.

so many people badmouth the BMI, how stupid it is and how the stupid and ignorant the people who created it are. it was created not just for the “you”, it was created as a quick, easy GENERAL tool to be used by clinicians all over the world, including third world countries, to be able to quickly and easily make an assessment of the patient populations that they are working with. There is now a replacement tool that includes an ethnicity factor that refines the results based upon what these stupid people have found out over time. It may alter the the results for blacks, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders. Read up on the subject. Very interesting.

Jaime, you may find this calculator interesting: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/ideal-weight-calculator/

Great information Kenna Morton! ❤❤❤

Oh, actually I was looking at an old BMI chart. My BMI is 26.58, but still overweight. @gz9gjg, I looked up that website and it told me my ideal weight was between 125 and 169 pounds! I would not look healthy at 125 I can gaurantee that. I am definently going to do some more research into the ethnicity factor Kenna Morton stated because I found that interesting. You all have a happy and positive day!

It's good that you have updated your results. Over 30 is considered obese and looking at your picture, I really can't figure it out! I can't figure out overweight either. The only way to really tell is to get an accurate body fat scan. You are doing well and looking good!

For people who are really into this just done use the BMI use fat calipers or waist to height ratio. Or waist to hip. There are alternatives, just use one. .

JaimeJay, in the end, any "number" is just a guide. Go by how you feel and look!

BMI isn’t accurate. Use a fat percentage calculator if you don’t want to go into a dunk tank

Very true Miraculum, I think it is the coffee consumption that has me thinking so rigid. Time to evaluate that now. Its Sunday, why not right?!!! But really, you are 1lright and for some reason I have been in a fight or flight mode. It must be my caffeine consumption. Thankyou again.

I agree that the BMI is a guide and I admit that height to waist ratio is not good for everyone either. I can be at my heaviest and gain one inch from my waist, other women will gain only in the stomach. You will be able to tell when the time comes. Nice progress!

Dunk tank? Will research that one also... Lol it's Sunday, why not?!

Here's a brief article on BMI and ethnicity: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/obesity-prevention-source/ethnic-differences-in-bmi-and-disease-risk/

lol according to the BMI calculator I’m near the upper limit of being overweight. But a BMI calculator would work for those who don’t work out just like calorie counting. It’s true for some people and not for others. The caliper test is not as accurate too. Try the eyeball test, look up pics of different fat percentages and see which one is closest to you.-stilldrunkmoo
