madaboutmoose's Journal, 17 Jul 10

The coffee just finished perking, I have the windows open in the house to bring in the crisp and cool morning air before closing everything up, and Bob and I are meeting friends at an auction today. I'm not really all that excited about the auction only because I really don't want to spend any money on things we don't really need but it will be fun to see our friends and to 'hang out' with Bob!!

I momentarily thought about NOT posting my weight here this morning and then thought to myself "why would you avoid that?" So instead I caught up my entries for the past week that I had recorded in my old-fashioned journal and dove in head first. All is well. I am 186.2 this morning which is up .4 from last week at this time yet .4 isn't really anything so I am feeling just fine. The scale really is my friend and a very useful tool. So is the measuring tape and my clothes!! All my tools are quite useful and I am enjoying becoming less emotional about them. I am healthy. I am happy. I look pretty damn good for a 52 year old woman. I feel GREAT!!!

So that's my story for today. Time to pour myself that first cup of coffee, get a bite to eat, shower and head out into the crisp morning air. The trick is dressing for the warmer temperature while you are freezing your rear quarters off in the morning!! Every morning I run the heater in the car on my way to work and the AC on the way home!! LOL!!

But before I go ... gratefulness abounds ...

1. I am grateful for a decent night's sleep and waking up BEFORE the alarm went off ...

2. For being able to take a day off of exercise without feeling like I might blow up to 300 lbs.

3. For that first cup of coffee of the day, today shared with the love of my life (usually he is in the shower as I drink my first cup)

4. for a weekend of not very exciting plans but 2 days off from work

5. For each day that I wake up in the morning and can be grateful for things, people, opportunities, and so forth in my life. I hope I can always do that regardless of the challenges that come my way ... I so don't want to become a bitter old woman ...

Have a satisfying Saturday!!! I'm excited to hear each of you are faring but I probably won't get to it until later this weekend. Know that you are always on my mind and in my heart!!! Take care of YOU today, continuing to practice kindness first towards ourselves which of course supports our ability to be kind to others as well.

Take care my dear friends!!

Have fun at the auction - I've never been to one, but it sounds like fun even if your not planning on bidding. Have a great Saturday!

Exactly, "why would you want to avoid that?" I just commented on Momo's journal that I was glad to see her back to doing the same. Well, you have lost 3.6 pounds off your recent high so things are clearly coming back around for you. I wish I could say the same, but I will be able to shortly. Have a great weekend Carol!

Too funny, with the heat in the am and the a/c in the evening. The weather where you live sounds like a Libra (me). Can't make up it's mind! Enjoy the weekend!
