It is with deepest regret that I am here to inform you all that I STILL DON'T HAVE A DATE. Also...because it has taken me so long to get here, I will now probably be waiting until June.

I am sad. I am frustrated. I am NOT giving up! I am going to lose as much weight as I can in the next three months. I will not lose the surgery if I "lose too much weight". So...I will do my best to get in as good of shape as I can prior to the surgery. And who knows...maybe it was just the worst-case scenario that they were giving me.

But I can't have my last appt. until my 2nd pre-auth for the surgery is approved and I can't get a date for my surgery until I have all this in place. So no date for me yet. Right now they are scheduling for May. If it takes the month that it generally takes for the approval to come back from the insurance then we will possibly be looking at June. *sigh

This is me refusing to be struck down! I hate waiting! I hate that my fate is in some faceless, nameless bureaucrats hands but...it is the hand that I have been dealt and I will meet it head on! I will be bigger than this!! (Figuratively, of course!) LOL

And in the mean-time I will practice the stuff that I have had the hardest time with. I will take pics and measurements and I will fill up that gosh-darned excel spreadsheet with SO MUCH DATA! And I will practice being nicer to me and supporting myself and talking myself off the ledge so you guys aren't having to do it every time I get an uptick on the scale!!! However I will need you all to monitor me closely to make sure that I am doing all this!!! LOL you thought that you were off the hook! Bwahahahahaha nope!

Sorry you are disappointed. I totally agree with you about doing the things you know to do that are positive and nurturing. That is a really good attitude and I admire you for it. Yes, you can eat the right things for health, keep lowering your carbs, and cut out sweets. When the time comes you will heal better from your surgery.

Be careful! You have time. Do this surgery only when you are in a solid healthy status. Ask questions about how this surgery stresses and strains the other areas of your body, heart, lungs etc. Please. 😍

Thanks @Rosio! That's kind if how I'm trying to slant this. I can't afford to have a "bad month" after surgery. That's another reason I "had" to take care of my teeth prior to surgery. They would have been content with me correcting the "infection" but I knew that to actually correct the problem I needed to correct my "teeth" not the infection and that getting them pulled (they were all broken) would get to the real reasons that I was having infections in the first place! So as silly as it sounds, pulling all my teeth, I did have some idea of what it was going to take. It's funny how the things that I thought would be hard were the things that were the easiest, mostly I'm sure, because I dealt with them quickly and as early on as possible. And the Things that I thought would be the easiest have turned into the hardest (eating right with no teeth). I just hand waved it by saying that I was going to have to do the pre-surgery diet anyways. Liquid diets are NOT easy for me and I lost so much weight that they actually said I don't need to do it. My fatty liver issues are now non-existent! That'll teach me!

Liquid diets are not healthy

Remember we want to be healthy, and with eating healthy and having good habits will lead us to an ideal weight for our bodies. We cannot and should not force our bodies to be a certain weight. We should strive for look great, feel great and not X amount of lbs.

I'm just gonna give you a ((Hugz)) and just be happy that you're not giving up :) - - I had rapid weight loss last year and hit he inevitable 'plateaus' so I can understand why you would still want the surgery, even when some around you probably feel you could just continue losing weight doing what you are doing. But, your life, your body, and I respect your desires. Take care, and good luck!

Yes u don’t need the surgery but I can tell u will not change your mind so make sure u prepare ur brain 🧠 for it. Learn how to maintain weight after surgery🧐🤓🤔

Yes, you can do it! Learning portion control will help you after your surgery, one member of my family, had the surgery, she have maintained her weight loss for too many years, but she is soo disciplined, she can cook delicious meals, seat on the table with us and she will not eat the same food.🤷‍♀️ I don't have that level of discipline yet. 😐

How much are you eating right now? The first two weeks or so post-surgery, your calorie intake will be 300-400 calories per day, you will have to increase your calorie intake slowly and then you will have to eat 900-1000 calories per day for the rest of your life.

Katie you got this and we're here for you before and after the surgery.

No worries - you will get there, and now is just "practice eating" so you can learn the new program after surgery, right?
