So I bought my daughter some Bryers No sugar added ice cream. I decided to test how keto friendly it was. I had a little monday night and didn't check. Last night my blood ketones were 1.7 before the ice cream. Which is lower than normal. 2-3 is pretty normal for me. Even 4s are pretty normal. Well an hour after eating the ice cream that had only 6 NET carbs, it dropped my ketones to .6!!!! So beware!!!!! I didn't check my blood sugar. But I'd guess it raised that as well. Probably not safe for diabetics on a strict regimen. It's delicious taste should have been a dead give away :(

Sounds great to see the effect in numbers. They've learned how to get around carbs and cane sugars, and use alternatives that may very well be worse. Doesn't make it easy for a diabetic. On my vacation I went to a gourmet shop, and they had taste samples of foods I stay away from. Had a taste of a couple, and thought it would be nice to live near this shop. Tiny bits please... can say, nice taste, but not food :)

Well, I am glad you had to have a little ice cream :) You know I measure my blood sugar, and I tend to find that foods that have a 'net carb' higher than 2 hit me hard. It wont spike me 'most of the day' like normal high carb food, but it WILL spike me.

ya, I expected they are not good. anything that tastes good and says "net" carbs is not on my list. waaaaa

Messed up how the companies can lie and manipulate the truth to sell their shit! Adef that’s interesting that it doesn’t impact you long term though. But garbage like that could potentially put my dad in the hospital. His bs is way in the 200s all the time and he would not eat a single serving. It would be half of the container! I have the care touch Jenjabba. Seems to work pretty well

ps, did you look at the ingredients before you bought it? I just looked, that is a huge clue. the total carbs was 16 on the one I looked at. there has got to be a good way to make it out of heavy cream and something that will add bulk without having to eat so many calories of heavy cream.. hmmm. like chia seeds or xantham gum or or or.. hmmm

I’ve tried making a lazy ice cream out of heavy cream. Didn’t like the feel in my mouth. You can make a really good milkshake with just ice, hc, and protein powder. Use to make them sans hc when I was doing low fat
