Is anyone else afraid to get rid of your "fat" clothes? Why am I holding onto them? Because I have yoyo'd before? Because I know at some point I will eventually fail at maintaining? Ughh.

I used to be, but now I get rid of them aggressively. Don't leave yourself a backup plan. :)

Hi there. Yes I have been a size 8 to 10 now for about 4 months. And I am just now getting rid of my 14/16 and above ( up to 2x size 22w). I used to hold on to the “nice” clothes but no more. I have some friends who are losing so I am passing the nice big clothes on to them as they lose. It makes me feel good to help them celebrate and reinforces my commitment to my new lifestyle. Good for you. Get rid of the old to make room for the new!!

if your skinny clothes get tight, do a cut.

It is really hard psychologically to get rid of them even though you never want to see yourself in them again - good luck

I got rid of my fat clothes as soon as possible. I treated this like an invading army on the beach. I burned the ships so I can't go back. I didn't want the tempation to back slide and gain the weight because I had clothes that would fit. I burned the ships and I'm not looking back. Good luck in your journey

I got rid of most, but not all. Kept some for visual reference only. The rest are leaving slowly but surely.

IDK, I hold on to them because I spent tens of thousands of dollars on them and don’t feel like throwing that away... 🤷🏻‍♂️

I came to realize that if I held onto them then I was setting myself up for failure. They were a safety net to something and someone that I didn’t want to be. I had to get out of my comfort zone if I am to become the person that I want to be. It’s not easy but I am doing it and I am scared to death but I am also set to succeed.

With my clothes I always do one thing, everytime I go to get some new pieces and come home do this: for one of the news ones I get out of my closet three old ones.

@original_vlad: If you spent tens of thousands on your clothing, depending on your loss, either have them altered or give them to a worthy charity. Many people are in need of professional clothing for interviews.

First time I lost, I kept them. I ended up needing to use them again unfortunately. This time around, I am giving them to goodwill. I think it is helping me remain mindful of where I am and where I need to go. Where I was cannot be an option for me this time.

No! I got rid of them as soon as I could! Wearing clothes that fit reminds me to pay attention and avoid regaining weight. Plus, I donated the large stuff to Goodwill for a nice tax deduction.

I got rid of them as soon as I realize I really could do this the rest of my life

I am donating mine - all of it. I don’t want to have anything in my home that I can grow into.
