Working hard to get this weight off. I've discovered that white flour carbs are like glue to me; if I eat them, even within my RDI, my weight goes up by a pound. Not super happy about that so I've eliminated them for the most part the past couple of days and my weight has dropped sharply. Hmmm... I'm still doing CICO, but with a very low-carb orientation now. I had pasta Friday night for the first time in weeks and it sent me into a carb-crave that had me eating 200 grams in carbs for the day. Holy cow. I went slightly over my RDI and was puffy the next day. I've also had significant knee pain since then. I've reduced significantly and have kind of lost my taste/interest in those types of carbs. I think I'm training my brain (or its training me) to stay away from the things that hurt me.

now you understand more about how some of us went low carb or lower carb cutting white flour products was a biggy for me years ago, found that early on. it cuts a lot of my guilty pleasures. fortunately if you don't have anything else that has that response to your diet, you have all your other foods left. generally whole wheat will not be a replacement, but you can test it. there are some sprout breads that may work. I forget now which ones are safe for most.

I am doing CICO too ,but I also avoid white carbs, I love white rice but normally I eat parboiled rice, and whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, I am avoiding potatoes, too much sugar, etc. I do eat cake and it is not whole wheat haha

if I don't want to retain water weight for my next morning weight in, I eat oatmeal for dinner the night before.

Sauteed zoodles with garlic and olive oil have replaced spaghetti noodles for me with no regrets.

Great loss! It's amazing the things we learn about ourselves as we go through this journey. I enjoy pastas and things with white flours, but I try to limit them too. I've learned that I enjoy some of the better for you carbs more and don't tend to crave junk if I stay away from the more junky carbs.

I have found that Dave's Killer Seed Bread (thin sliced) is a good choice for me. The slices are smaller, it's dense and satisfying (has a good bite), and it doesn't make me want to eat the rest of the loaf. I make sandwiches for breakfast or lunch on occasion using that bread, cream cheese, and sliced cucumbers. Sometimes, if I've got a lot of calories left to spend, I'll throw on some lunch meat. I haven't tried zoodles yet, but I love spaghetti squash (with butter and parmesan cheese). I just found a recipe online this morning for a kind of dipping bread using grated zucchini as the base (kind of like cauliflower pizza) and I plan to try it. Right now I'm gearing up for a weekend in Oregon with #1 son and hubby and there will be plenty of breweries involved with both of them! My son is a small-batch brewer, but I'm not much of a beer drinker, so I'll be the designated driver :)

I think I will run that test for my own diet. I have eaten more white bread in the last 2 weeks than I have the last 3 months. I've noticed that my body has gradually taken on aches, especially after I have sat for a while. I had first blamed a chair that had an unsupportive back that I sat in for a long meeting that I attended but now I am wondering about the white bread and I am also curious about inflammation that I have heard many of you talk about.

It’s cause carbs retain water

When you get to maintenance, your body will be adjusted to carbs since you eat them 💕 Do not have a set goal %in mind
07 Aug 18 by member: rosio19
Have an in between...in the beginning my goal was 125-130 lbs and play around with the numbers...weekdays do your low carb and weekends moderate and if you go a pound or two even 3 it’s ok
07 Aug 18 by member: rosio19
Cause have told your self that as long as your in between you are ok
07 Aug 18 by member: rosio19
It’s a mental game 😉
07 Aug 18 by member: rosio19
But don’t cut them cause when in maintenance it’s gonna take a period of adjustment and why do double the work? 😳🤪

You are doing great! And you know it 😏

You Go! I have pretty much the same story and trying to adapt to sedentary lifestyle, to include the right exercise (walking and bike riding). agree with posted above. it's mental.
