I am finding it hard to increase my protein. Seems like that would be an easy fix. Not so much.
My macros should be 78 protein, 89 fat and 10 net carbs. 1162 calories.
I have been moving a lot more. A lot more power walking.
But it has been a real stressful week.
MIL gave me a real hard time Monday wanting to get clean (she has Alzheimer's for you new friends and I am PT caregiver). So I stressed all over that on Tuesday. Wednesday went fairly well. Then yesterday she was brought to ER via ambulance for heart racing. FIL has been neglectful giving her meds on the days I am not there. I guess I will go every day.
This weekend is also the 1 year anniversary of my dear grandmother's death. She was my best friend and losing her has been extremely painful for me.
Oh well 30 minutes and I will take the Super Pack for their walk. I am enjoying the sunrises lately.
Have a good day my friends. Xo

sorry for all your stress, it is hard to find good people to take care of our loved ones. I love meat so it is not overly hard to add a little extra protein to my meals. You can always fry up a little of those thin round steak packages and add what you need to make your goals. I generally have leftovers that I measure out during the day. I buy a larger package of meats and then individually wrap them to fry up for myself. add to your salads or eggs in the morning. You can always use something like quest protein powder too. I got some for myself but I did not react well to the whey.

Thanks Baskington. I will do add the meat. I really don't want to get into the powder thing. I know it is good for some people but in my mind it is a crutch instead of eating whole foods. But extra meat, that I can do!!

Maybe try to have some boiled eggs on hand. I keep a dozen made so when needed they are an easy go to snack for the added protein. If you only need protein and not addtl fat just eat the egg white not the yolk. I am sorry about your in-laws. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Can your hubby or his family help out?

That is a great idea, and omit the yoke. I keep them on hand too. The rest of hubby's family is in NY, we are in Florida. They tried home health and 1 girl stole a bottle of pain pills and the other did nothing the entire time she was at the house. As for hubby, I think the entire thing is really hard for him to accept and he is usually a man that steps up to the plate. This is really difficult for him. I don't mind, I just like to know what I am up against. I guess we just figured it out.

Notice chicken and sardines bump up my protein, without bringing fat up too bad. Easy and quick to eat too. Hoping for more smooth days ahead for you.

I've been experiencing the same thing with protein!! I'm w/ you also on eating whole foods. Chicken seems to be the best source for great macros (hence why body builders eat it all the time) I thought I could eat it everyday, but it's hard to, I get tired of it. I bought some Special K w/ protein (10 grams per serving) and ate it last night with unsweetened almond milk but felt bloated this morning...not sure if it was because of it being a grain (I've tried to cut those way back)...but anyway, it did taste pretty good! Some legumes have a lot of protein, if you eat those, but I've cut those out myself, all but occasional black beans. Good luck to you!! By the way, my grandmother was also my best friend in the world, she's been gone for a while now...I miss her so much

Also, tuna fish!! High protein, virtually no fat, also NO carbs at all!! If you don't like it or get tired of it, mix a small amount of low calorie sauce or seasoning in it and just chug it down!!! A body builder I used to work with ate it everyday, he'd have to chase it w/ an apple...

Not sure what your woe is, but I would increase fats and calories (if your doing a keto type diet) and not worry about the eating more protein. This should help you lose. Best of luck to you

Momma, been doing very high fat and keep hitting stalls. Readjusted my Macros the other day on ketogains.com and the numbers I posted is what popped out. Just adjusting as I go. :)

You are so good to take care of your in-laws. It is very rough. My parents are dealing with that now. My grandfather has Alzheimer’s but doesn’t take medication- any pills at all. He’s too set in his ways. It took a long time to find him a trust worthy pt care taker. As far as the protein goes, try switching some of the meat you are eating with chicken breast. That could help.
