Why am I so afraid of the gym!?! My physical therapist is also a friend. I had to be discharged from PT (yay me), but she invited me to join her at the local gym to continue my progress. I have the day pass printed out. I'm dressed. ...and I'm stressed about it! I did this on Tuesday, too. ...and the week before. I don't understand it. How can I be an extrovert with social anxiety?

Any gym can be intimidating. When I am unsure about something, I tend to make it worse than it actually is in my head - somethings one has to the plunge and stop overthinking - you got this

If my PT wanted to workout with me I'd take advantage of the opportunity. Maybe someone actually showing interest in your progress IRL scares you. IDK....go workout and enjoy it! The internet is great way to avoid real life. I am not real; I am an internet ghost.......so...yes...go.....workout and take solace in the fact someone cares this much to see you improve.

Still haven't gotten there, but I got up enough courage to ask for help. Instead of meeting her there, she's going to swing by and pick me up. Starting tomorrow. :D Social anxiety isn't something you just "get over." I can't walk in by myself until it becomes one of my safe places. I get acid reflux just thinking about it! Now that I am going to finally go, I gotta worry about money. *sigh* It's always something. LOL!
