So, I am worried that a lot of my weight drop this week is from water loss over the weekend.
I had made beef machaca (my wife really wants tacos) earlier in the week and I had gained some weight the 2 days I ate that for dinner (even though my calories for each day were lower than my target calories). I lost everything I had gained 2 days later by eating bacon/chicken Caesar salads for dinner and figured that my body just take longer to process beef (noticed the same pattern when I had eaten a few steaks in a week).
So, Saturday, I had plans to do a ton of yard work (started early to avoid the Phoenix heat as much as possible). After I had only worked outside for 2 hours, I had no energy at all. None. Wasn't sore, but I could not move. I had drank 120 ounces of water before noon in order to stay hydrated in the heat and didn't cramp up at all. Sunday, I went out early again to try and finish up the rest of what I was working on and crashed again after about 2 hours. Still stayed hydrated, but got a little cramping in the afternoon in a couple of muscles, but still not sore. I am pretty sure I burned through all of my glycogen reserves and because I am so early still in getting back to the ketogenic WOE, my body didn't know what to do. I try to keep net carbs to 20g per day, but Saturday I was close to 12 and Sunday I only had 15.
I didn't wake up dehydrated this morning, so I am hoping it wasn't just water loss and lack of food (didn't eat much over the weekend), but time will tell.
I also ran out of cashew butter during the week which was really disappointing as I had plenty of room in my macros for it this weekend, so I think I'll go get some tonight.
The nice thing about the weigh-in today is it the first time in a while that my BMI is not in the red anymore, but it's going to be a while before I can drop another color level. Still, I will take the small victories.
Have a great week!
