abbadabba's Journal, 22 Feb 10

My dreams last night revolved around shopping. In one, I found that the skirt that I had been wearing still had its tag on - I dreamed that I took it back to the store (Home Depot) and was going to get my money back since the skirt didn't fit and was a weird color. Then I noticed that it was a size 10! I haven't fit into a 10 for years! I decided to keep it, even though it was ugly and too big.

I wonder what it means? Maybe it's a metaphor for my house - it is also ugly and too big!

Ate ok today, but not great. Lots of vegetables though. I think the secret to logging my food is not to eat so much and that way it won't take very much time! It was how I kept myself in check, though.

Hope you have a good day tomorrow! I plan on getting a long night's sleep tonight - working on getting 8 hours to help boost my willpower.

Sorry to hear about the bad divorce week stuff. I know how heartily it can suck! I really wish I could take away the pain and aggravation for you because I know how difficult getting past it all can be. Lots of warm thoughts and hugs coming your way!

I too had strange dreams but not about hair or clothes it was about children and family relationships. Very weird dream. My niece and nephew were in it and they were very unhappy with me. I've never had a lot of contact with them as they live out of state ... but let's say my brother and his wife have raised their children very differently than I did. Towards the end of the dream (while I was still dreaming) I realized that my niece and nephew actually represented my step children, who we have really no contact with anymore (LONG story and I won't bore you with the details). Anyway, I woke up with a start. Life is indeed interesting. I hope you got your 8 hours ... I could use that myself!! LOL!!

Hmm. You have just redone your bathroom, right? Did you get materials at home depot? Maybe you are feeling good about the bathroom but not the rest of the house, and the rest of the house is tangled in your brain with your appearance. ??? Maybe it's all kind of a metaphor for how when we lose some weight we feel good about that, but yet we are still stuck with all of the other things we don't like about ourselves--and it's kind of a panic moment, like realizing the tag is still on. It's like, omg, wait, I lost some weight but I still have to deal with X, Y and Z. Get those eight hours in! I too am planning for an early bedtime. More sleep can only help you deal with whatever else is going on.

Your dream cracked me up! Too funny! Too funny! Maybe the Home Depot metaphor represents your attempt to "build" a new and improved YOU! Probably not. You simply have remodeling in the synapses of your brain. I used to have a recurring dream that a shadow hovered over my bed and attempted to cut off all my hair. As you can see - I don't have MUCH hair to begin with. I read somewhere that this kind of dream reflects the fear that other's are hampering our success. Who knows? Carry on. You're doing fine!

You are so lucky to be able to remember your dreams in such detail abba. Wait... let me get my psychiatrist's cap. Ok, the correct interpretation to your dream is that you fear returning to your old weight, and, to remind yourself of where you have been, you needed to take extreme measures (like keeping a skirt you did not like or need). Another possiblity is that you may have exceeded the return period for Home Depot and that the return was refused at customer service. You may have forgotten about this unpleasant part of the dream. ;-)
