Here's a really interesting article for us. It's about the brain mechanisms of hunger and food addiction. We know that stress makes us want to eat comfort food. So, here's a bit more on how that works.

I'll certainly read your article. I've listened to a few documentaries on addiction, and although I understand what's going on, it doesn't seem to make it easier. (I have seen my food habit as somewhat of an addiction) You'd think it would...

thank you Erica, the article was indeed insightful. I've watched a show about treatment of alcoholics, and apparently, there is an approved treatment which takes away the cravings to drink, and to some extent, drugs. the medication is called Naltrexone. I could write an essay about all of the documentary, it was that interesting...It's $1200 a month... but is savings lives. the producer of the show was a doctor who ended up on the curb because of this alcoholism. this is not a forum about alcoholism, so i'll end this here... but the reward circuitry in the brain is not different for any of us. tks again.
