I hope your Veteran's Day was thoughtful!

My neighbor and I went to a museum conference today and learned all about how to keep our town house museum afloat and full of visitors! One of the main things is that we have to get more volunteers - our guides are all volunteer and aren't replacing themselves!

I ate ok today - we underestimated the breakfast that we thought was at the conference and had to pay $2 for a muffin! Then lunch I had a burger with fries, but I didn't eat the whole roll. Dinner was soup with ham slices, and my daughter had a sandwich. We aren't really having fun eating together - it reminds us we aren't all here and that is sad.

My daughter and I aren't getting along very well - she's very depressed, looking for a college to attend, so she won't even talk to me about it. The high school has a whole computer program available, but she won't log on. That is really a drag for me too, since I know she would like to something to go right and getting into college should be easy for her to do since she is a decent student with great test scores. I can't help her if she won't cooperate.

My scale is enroute but I am totally surprised it is taking so long for it to arrive. Next time I'll just run down to the mall - I don't know how my husband does it, he orders stuff all the time. The waiting is killing me!

Have a good Thursday! I signed up for a lot of things, and I will be taking a day off work, turns out to run around like a chicken with my head cut off!

Sorry about the problems with your daughter. Sometimes kids just take longer to adjust to these things sometimes more so when they are older. She will adjust. Why not try to plan some special outings for just the two of you? Have a nice day and hope your scale arrives soon.

Still lots of adjustments it sounds like. I imagine that is some of what your daughter is experiencing and you are getting the brunt of it by her not wanting to communicate about college and future. Hang in there. I like Cathy's suggestion about something fun for the 2 of you ... maybe being out of your routine will open up her communication. This has been an incredibly LONG wait for a scale ... good grief!!! Have a good day Abba!!

Mothers and daughters. What a rocky relationship at times! I went through a rough patch with my own dear mother when I was a teenager, but today, in my late 30's, we are so very close. It will all work out in the end.
