I have been a FS member since September 17th 2014, I made daily entries from September until February 2015, at that point I had lost almost 55 pounds. I started having computer problems ( I was still on Windows XP) Once I got the computer problems sorted out I had lost my momentum and as is usual with me, I felt like I could do just fine without tracking my food. With every weight loss endeavor I have ever taken on, I do well, then I start slacking and two or three years later I have not only not reached my goal, but gained everything back plus some. I tend to get 30 or 40 pounds from my goal and I think I can just skate on to the finish line. I am too old to keep doing this, it gets harder to lose with each passing year. I have felt better this past year than I had in the previous decade. I don't want to go back to feeling sick and tired. I actually did well maintaining my weight for most of the year, not losing, but not gaining either, right up until this past Christmas. I popped in here for a day then got to planning Christmas dinner and it has been all the wrong stuff every since. I have managed to gain 12 pounds since December. I am happy at work, happy at home and simply not thinking about my weight. Two weeks ago the hot flashes started back up again, I hadn't had any of them for the better part of a year, my back was aching and I have not had any aches and pains since I lost the first 30 lbs. I stepped on the scale and saw the weight creeping back on. I marched right back in here and posted a journal entry. I need to see this through to my goal, and then I need to manage my maintaince. I got lazy, I know I need to track my food or the portions will slowly get larger. I can't eat sugar and starches, every time I have even a tiny bit, I want more and more. It's like an addiction and shaking it is hard. For the next three days I will be doing a fat fast while I let the carbs clear out of my system. After the fat-fast I will go back to my RDI that I was doing so well on. I believe that I am one of those people who can never go back to a higher carb intake, so back down to 20 I go.
