Anyone on fs for any length of time knows I can't cook. I bought an air fryer back in December just because and it's amazing. suddenly I'm making all kinds of crap. it's like the tastiness of an oven with the speed of a microwave. I'm quite sure everyone already knows this. I've been making 90 cal tilapia with just a bit of olive oil, lemon pepper seasoning and a dash of salt. It's awesome. ☺

I love the air fryer! I have a Ninja, and it has an air fryer...and I had only ever used it for the grill. My teenage neice came over last summer and said don't you use the air fryer? I said no, I don't really make fried stuff (I AM a very good cook). I said what can you make in it, what's so great? 🤔 I have made a lot of really awesome dinners when I needed quick stuff! I don't think I can be without one now. My two favorite appliances are the air fryer and the Instant Pot!

I want to buy one so bad. Not a lot of counter space. Small kitchen. I think I’d be experimenting big time though. Lol

Just make sure to unplug it when not in use!! I have one and love it but always unplug it when I’m not using it just for safety/fire risk!

I got one a few years ago and used to use it all the time but lately haven't been into it as much. It makes great chicken tenders and fire roasted stuffed peppers. I'll have to get it out again. Thanks for reminding me!

I'm a pretty decent cook but I suck at cooking fish! 🐟 I'm pretty good at cooking fish in the air fryer though, LOL. For whatever reason I can cook fish in the air fryer where I seem to mess it up if I try to fry it. It was hit or miss with the pocket envelope method so I too I'm a big fan of fish in the air fryer. As for unplugging appliances I grew up with Captain Planet so I've always been a big fan of unplugging appliances not just for safety but for the Earth 🌍, not to mention these days the electric bill is not exactly easy on one's budget...lol 😂. Unplug for polar bears.

I have heard so about air fryers that I've thought I might like one. I don't want to keep one on my kitchen counters & don't really have space to store one without some major rearranging & probably discarding some stuff. We are looking at new stoves since my oven bit the dust. Does anyone have any experience with an oven with an air fryer? I've seen mixed reviews.

I have a convection oven (gas) which is what an air fryer is. If I had to do it over again, I’d do the combo where i got a slightly smaller convection oven and the drawer with an air fryer because it’s really about circulating the same hot air in a smaller space. Plus, PITA to clean an entire oven because you cooked 6 chicken nuggets. I love, love, love my tiny Brevile combo and stuck it in a corner on my counter. I use it almost daily. I use the big oven for storage and I rarely use the built in microwave at all.

I have a convection oven which does the same thing... Oven + air.

I don’t have one but I have purchased two. LOL. The most recent about a month ago. Get it home and change my mind before even opening the box.

I never knew that's what a convection oven is. 🙈

I want to know how you cook it, like how long and what temp? I tried to make meat in my air fryer but it took every drop of moisture out!

Generally speaking, anything that’s not coated needs a quick spray of cooking oil to seal it. My favorite setting for proteins is 400 for 8-12 minutes, and I check it halfway. I don’t need to turn most of my stuff because it’s on a rack. Good rule of thumb is 3/4 the time your regular oven would take.

Sherrye, my sister has an oven with the 2 compartments. One is slightly bigger and that is the oven setting. The other is convection/ air fryer ( same thing) I use it when we go to San Diego to visit my mom. I think for a larger crowd, it's fine but personally I like the table top one for just us. It cooks quicker and more evenly. My sister also has a Ninja foldable table top air fryer/ toaster and I like it a lot. ( she had it B4 she got new oven) It has multiple uses and folds upwards to take up less counter space. Because it's rectangular shaped you can get a more even cook on what you put in there. I have the original stand up kind and I find it restricts how much you can cook at one time and I have the larger size .

Looking for recommendations for a compact 2-person/serving size air fryer that doesn't take up a lot of countertop space. (Would not use an integrated toaster.) TYIA!
