I think I am beautiful in my own unique way, even though my outward appearance may prompt some people to laugh at me and say hurtful things...all because I am "big". I say to those people, "If you really knew me, you would not make fun of me. You would encourage me to keep smiling. You would tell me I'm a beautiful person. If you really knew me, you would look beyond my chubby cheeks and double chin to the kind, gentle spirit that lies inside. If you really knew me, you would know I am a person. Not a pants size. If you really knew me, you would know that even though you make fun of me for wearing a bathing suit at "my size", I will jump off the diving board into the deep end anyway, beacause I love to swim." You might have said "Wow, you don't look like you've skipped a meal in a long time." Well quess what? I haven't skipped meal, and I will NOT skip any meals, because skipping meals is unhealthy. I'm not starving my body to impress ANYbody. But if you really knew me, you *shock* might even like me. I am more than a fat roll ;-) [color=indigo]

Great thoughts and attitude. It reminds me of that movie where the guy did something that made him see people on the outside the way they were in the inside and he fell in love with a girl who was overweight but he saw her as beautiful. Can't remember the name of the movie though.

Your post reminds me of a girl in high school. Nobody seemed to like her, and made fun of her because of her size. Well, guess what? When the talent show came, she played beautifully on the piano. I think we were all in shock and so surprised that she was someone special after all. :-)

What a fantabulous post! I have a friend much larger than me who was surprised when I invited her to the pool where I live. She said, "You won't be embarrassed to be seen with me in a bathing suit?" I almost cried. If someone is so ignorant they'd make fun of or would be ashamed to be seen with someone for their weight, they probably aren't "friend" material. Feel sad for them--you can fix a weight problen, but they will probably always be ignorant.

I agree a great post....how many of us have heard the line...."she's got such a pretty face..." when they are thinking what a mess otherwise. Think there was a book printed in the 60's with that title. Thanks for sharing....obviously you are one of the beautiful people!!!!
