HCB's Journal, 08 Jul 15

Greetings my Buddies:

July 8th is my brother's birthday - he is a good person. I always feel compassion for him because his son (my nephew) died at age 25 about two years ago. Very sad to lose a child.

Went back to work yesterday and it was a long day. It seems I am wheezing a little lately when I breathe - something about Canadian wildfires and smoke coming down our way on the winds. It has been hazy here.

I was at the gym on the elliptical and lasted about 30 minutes! I NEVER leave early but just could not do the whole 60 minute workout yesterday. It was uncomfortable for me to leave but I could not breathe well.

I weighed in at 181 this morning so still maintaining - I am happy there was no gain from the Holiday weekend. We all shall move forward and work on the next loss!

Words of the Week:
"Watch your character today, for it becomes your destiny."

I am dedicated, determined and diligent.

Yes we are getting smoke from the fires in Canada also here in Colorado you don't need to workout with a respirator on.

Air quality is poor here as well for the same reason and I am about an hour or so from the northern border of Arkansas.

It's not quitting on your workout when you can't breathe properly.

Well seeing breathing is more essential than the actual exercise I think you made the best decision, HCB. Taking care of yourself is first and foremost and should take precedence even over exercise and weightloss.

The wildfires are terrible this year, here in WA and in CA, as well as Canada. I'm sure it has to do with global warming. I certainly wouldn't feel guilty about leaving the gym early,HCB. If you can't breathe properly, it's not going to do you any good, anyway. I Have lot from 190.0 on June 25th down to 184.8 this morning, and I am finished with my fence, so haven't worked on it the past two days, and I haven't been exercising for a bit because working on the fence was my daily exercise, and it's been way too hot in the house since I finished the fence to exercise. It may be, in part, due to the fact that I haven't been eating as much, or as often due to the heat. I am still overweight, and I am glad I lost the weight; I'm just wondering if that isn't a little too fast? I'll take it over gaining, though!

Though we have no fires/smoke issues, just the humidity and pollen has me wheezing. Inhaler time.
