Fritzy 22's Journal, 13 Nov 22

Yesterday I took Bobby for a quick walk - just to the corner of my street and back because it was so cold and I haven't received his vest or jacket in the mail yet. Actually it was still in my Amazon shopping cart so I ordered it last night. I then went on a longer walk alone, down to the lake where there is a nice level street that has a nice loop in the middle. While on that street I noticed a couple I didn't know with a dog. I stopped and asked them "is that Gus?" It was, I remembered him from the dog park about 4 or 5 years ago. It's funny I don't remember people but I remember dogs. They were amazed. I had never met the wife, but met her husband and college age daughter a few times at the dog park. We talked about 10 minutes. The walk home was really hard on me. I think maybe I was able to do it a week or so ago was because I was so motivated with the step counter. But I took the easiest hill home. I have to stop on it at least once to catch my breath. I was out of breath most of the way home. Maybe it's the colder weather, but something made it difficult yesterday. Sometimes I think it's the time of day I walk. First thing in the morning, as soon as it gets light is when I have the most energy. I go downhill quickly after that. I got home from the 2nd walk around 11:30.

No plans for meals today. Had coffee and 1/4 bagel with a tiny bit of butter earlier. Tomato soup later and 2 mugs of milk, maybe even hot chocolate later in the day for protein. My neighbor is doing a Costco run today and I asked her to pick up one of their apple pies for me. Hope I am able to resist it and just have small slices once in awhile. But I love that pie! I got a coupon for a free large one topping pizza at the local pizza restaurant. Got it using "points" at my local market. I am staying home for Thanksgiving and watching my sister's 2 dogs. So I thought I'd get the pizza on the day before Thanksgiving. I really don't want to watch the dogs but felt mean saying no to my sister. I'm fine with her older dog, but the shih tzu is about 7 months and somewhat a brat. I don't think she's totally housebroken either. I told my sister she will owe me.

I remember cats and dogs better than people too. Pets in general of any kind. I like pets better than a lot of people. LOL.

Thanks Morticia - I forget people's names as soon as they tell me. And faces too unless it's someone I see everyday. If I were to run into either of the people tomorrow at the grocery store I wouldn't recognize them. I'm so bad. But the dog, Gus I remember. He's beautiful. I think he is mixed breeds but a beautiful grey and white and curly kinda like a poodle, but not a poodle.

I can't wait to see Bobby in his jacket. You will enjoy the apple pie and pizza. That was nice of you to agree to keep the dogs for your sister. You will have quite a pack of fur babies. lol The little puppy sounds like a hand full. Hope it isn't too much on you!:)

I can't remember peoples names either, but I do remember if I like them or not. LOL! Dog, yes! My husband and I both prefer then to most people. Dog lovers are great people though. I love pie, too! It's hard for me to have a whole pie around but thankfully my mother is a big pie lover, too.

Animals are nicer than a lot of humans. I can see why you’re a dog lover. Nice of you to babysit sister’s dogs. Curious, are you spending Thanksgiving alone on purpose?

Thanks Navywife - I haven't since the puppy for 3 or 4 months. But I think she is the dominant of my sister's 2 dogs which is something because her older dog, a little yorki pomeranian mix has a strong personality. Thanks Mom - I just got the stuff from Costco - so nice to have a neighbor deliver to me. Not sure what to do with the pie - put the whole thing in the freezer or cut into slices before putting in the freezer. Thanks SotrmsGirl - the only family I have close by is my sister. I usually spend holidays with her at her house or her daughter's house. But her whole family is going to Disneyland for my nephew's wedding anniversary. I don't mind being alone on Thanksgiving since I don't eat turkey any more. And I'll be so busy with my sister's dogs and my dog and cats that I won't care. I don't really like to go to friend's family holiday dinners.

My wife and I wear the same way. Our neighbors were just Zeke’s owners. Funny how that works.

How are you doing with vegetables? Have you tried any new recipes? Hope you have a restful Thanksgiving

thanks Daddy - yes, Scotty used to live next door to me. Have no idea what his owners' names were. Anytime he'd "escape" he'd run right over to my house and back yard and be looking in my back door for me. Thanks Abba - I do okay with vegetables if they are included in what I've cooked - like onions, carrots and potatoes with the roast. I'll put onions and mushrooms in omelots. Right now the only vegetable in the refrigerator is a bag of mini carrots. I also have a bag of potatoes and a big yellow onion. No new recipes for me. I am a lousy cook. Don't know how restful Thanksgiving will be with my sister's 2 dogs here. My dog Bobby gets so excited when he is around them.
