walked 2 miles, threw out the spray olive oil..its killing my heart and probably my blood pressure.

I use canola oil spray if I cook meat. Is there an issue?

sugarplum -- I've seen opposing arguments on the subject of oils. I've decided to keep modest amounts of olive and canola oil in my diet, but some people find they do better without it. If your diet is working for you on your bloodwork, it's probably not an issue. Very much a personal choice based on the individual situation

I concur with Wyoming on oil use. There is a lot of conflicting information on the subject of unsaturated oils. I tried going completely oil free for a while and found I really missed the flavor of olive oil, so like Wyoming, I decided to keep small amounts of olive and avocado oil in my diet. My total cholesterol is 163 with an LDL ratio of 3.1 which are good numbers especially considering my obesity. My total cholesterol has dropped 23 points in 6 months which I credit to eating predominantly plant based, limiting my saturated fats, losing weight, and getting more active. I am excited to see where I am this time next year.

I don't know about spray olive oil, as it may processed in some unhealthy way, but as for real 100% extra virgin olive oil in a bottle, I have only ever heard that it is excellent for heart health. Maybe do a bit more research? As for me, I try to limit soybean oil, corn oil, etc, but I do use olive oil with the only limits being due to calories.
