Fritzy 22's Journal, 03 Sep 22

Got up to feed my starving to death cats (I have to watch their performance twice a day) at 4:50am. Let Bobby outside just before it got light around 6am. Took him for a 20 minute walk at 7:30. It's already too warm for me to rake as I had planned. Should reach 100 today but the local news has been warning about 110-112 temperatures on Labor Day and the 2 days after. Seems like they've been talking about it for weeks. Really high fire danger, hope none of my neighbors do anything stupid to set off a spark anywhere. One neighbor always is outside smoking. I feel like following her around with a garden hose, but she'd probably call security.

I was going to make a meatloaf early today but the meat hasn't thawed yet. Tomorrow morning. My Labor Day barbecue might be grilling a burger or chicken breast on the George Foreman grill. It's only 8am and I feel like I am done for the day. I may do a load of clothes and some vacuuming. Bobby was thrilled to go for a walk this morning. I'm often too lazy to get moving much in the morning and then it's too hot.

I bet Bobby was happy about that walk! The water hose thing made me laugh out loud. Not really funny though, I would want to do the same thing! Enjoy your day!:)

Navywife - Bobby was so excited when he saw me putting on my walking shoes! I saw my neighbor outside a few hours ago. She goes out to smoke and text. I think they have 5 or 6 kids so she doesn't smoke in the house. She's actually a really nice neighbor, even offered to send her son (around 12-13) over to help me rake. I am planning a pretty boring 3 or 4 days. Just wandering around a dark house during the day and watching the wildlife early in the day. I took a picture of a beautiful buck who was on my deck eating birdseed out of a planter where I throw it. For some reason I can't post the picture. Hope you enjoy your day/weekend.

We are at 100. Just took dogs to the car wash for adventure, we were all ready to come back inside immediately. Stay safe!

Raining here and sure looks fallish. However it’s hot outside.

Cats make great alarm clocks. Heat makes me want to cook less.

I figured Bobby was excited! One of my yorkies is just like that, if I get my shoes or keys or do anything that shows I am going somewhere she is ready to GO!!! The other one is older, he is lazy and will hide. lol Glad she is a nice neighbor. That makes it nice! Especially, if she keeps things safe!:)

Yeah it is miserably hot isn’t Fritzy?! I couldn’t believe the forecast either, triple digits for a solid week. Not looking forward to feeding the cattle in that heat, and stressed they will be ok, lots of shade and water for them. Stay cool, just smart the meat outside and it will than very fast!

Kat - I think it is 100 here. I'm pretty much just staying inside. Caraken - Can't wait for rain here! Probably won't happen until November. Morticia - I never really want to cook, but especially not when it's hot outside. But the ground beef is thawed so I'll make a meatloaf. I like to put a can of chick peas in the pyrex dish with the meatloaf. That will be about 7am tomorrow that I will turn the oven on! Navywife - it's funny how our pets have us figured out. I keep the doors to 3 spare bedrooms shut to keep the animals off the carpet. But I do let them sleep in the guest room when I sleep in there (it's much cooler than the master bedroom). My cat Tony runs ahead of me when I walk to the door of the guest room and stands up pushing on the door. Daddy - do you watch the local news for Sacramento or are you more in the Bay Area? It is showing 112 Monday and Tuesday, doesn't cool "down" to just 100 until next weekend. Do you hose off the cattle? It must be miserable for them.

In Solano county, so I guess I can claim Bay Area and Sacramento area. No don’t hose off the cattle. Don’t have that much water, but I am toying twitch the idea of moving a fence and when it’s rebuilt run a water line with drinkers on the fence so when it is like this I can have a green area for them to rest in.

Daddy, I never go near Solano county any more. Hate the traffic. I'm in Nevada County so use Highway 20 and 49 to get everywhere. Take 20 to the coast and to get to I5 when I drive up to Oregon.

Yes the traffic is horrendous. I avoid I-80 as often as I can. I know most all the backroads now
