Set a new goal. Decided it was time because I was just staying in the same place with a blue line. Need motivation to get the next blue line!

I had a huge blue oak cut down. It was outside my bedroom door, about 20 feet away. It was beautiful but was failing. The bark was falling off. I had the HOA approve it to be cut down a couple years ago. You can't cut down oak trees without getting permission. Then the arborist back then talked me out of it and said it was in good shape. I had another tree cut down at that time. Well now it had to be done. There are some sad squirrels and birds that loved perching on the tree, watching and waiting for me to bring out peanuts and bird seed. I had talked to the tree service owner about cutting firewood for so my sister and brother in law can have it. He said they would cut it all into lengths of 16-18". I guess firewood means something different to me. I was expecting logs to give my sister. Everything is cut into lengths of 18 inches but that includes the tree trunk. There are about 8-10 huge rounds that are 18 inches long but about 24 inches wide. Right now I am going outside early in the morning and picking out pieces that will make good firewood for my sister. There is alot. BUt many pieces, like from really big branches are just too big, even if 18 inches long. They don't get back from Europe until the week after next. By then I'll have sorted through what I can and have it stacked for her. I'll also separate the bigger pieces to see if they can use it. In the meantime I'm checking with neighbors. One of my neighbors always have firewood in his yard and he adds to it. I've asked him if he has a log splitter and if so, does he want the wood that it too big for my sister. He wasn't sure, he has so much. But he said he'd come look at it and if he can't use it he knows several people who could take it. I know nothing about splitting wood and my brother in law has no interest in it. Anyway, I've been getting some good exercise going out and walking all around the big rounds that are lined up like a tree trunk and going to where there are piles of cut pieces of oak. I take logs one at a time and carry them back past the tree trunk and am stacking them up against a fence. I do anywhere from 5-10 logs and then I'm too hot and have to come inside and make sure I drink lots of water. I can't handle the heat for long. But I feel good I am getting some movement in and carrying heavy pieces of wood. Oak is heavy.

Today I'm trying to get back to normal eating. Usually after my doctor appointment, when I've done good, I go for a day or two of not doing so good with what I'm eating and then get back on track. I had my tomato soup today. Don't know why I am suddenly loving it. Today I made it a total meal from my childhood and added a grilled cheese sandwich. That was a meal my mom often made for lunch, tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. I only made 1/4 sandich with 1/2 of a piece of Oroweat potato bread. 1 slice of American cheese. A grilled cheese sandwich, for me, has to have American cheese. Another leftover from my childhood. I am not getting much protein. I've put 2/3 cups of frozen peas and frozen corn in individual covered 1 cup dishes. The plan is to have them for breakfast. Not much protein, just 4 or 5 total. I hope to stir fry for lunch. i did it yesterday and got nearly 10 grams of protein from the brussels sprouts, mushroom and asparagus i threw in the wok. No meat in the stir fry tomorrow. Maybe I'll add some chickpeas or kidney beans just to up the protein. I'll have tomato soup and 1/4 grilled cheese sandwich again for dinner but that is onlyabout 7 grams of protein. I'll see what I an do to get to at least 40 grams of protein. Not easy without meat. Maybe a glass of fat free milk.

I've been picking up smaller logs and adding to a pile for my sister. Was out at 7:30 this morning added about 12-15 pieces to the pile. Was also watering all my fruit trees and azaleas and a pine tree I had planted a couple years ago. I am not used to physical labor! I know it doesn't sound like much, but the wood is heavy even carrying one piece at a time. My hair was soaking wet by the time I finished. I'm now done for the day. It's 9:10am and I've used up all my energy. Probably burned more calories than I do in 2 or 3 days.
