I've been following a low fat diet for about a month now. There is a stick of butter in the refrigerator I haven't touched in that time. I don't really enjoy toast without butter! I've been using jam, but butter is so much better. I've been making baked potatoes and putting barbecue sauce on them. Really miss the butter, cheese and bacon bits. But low fat seems to be working for me. Maybe a baked potato with the stuff I want will be something to do if and when I reach a final goal weight.

My sister and brother in law are in Europe for a month. She called me yesterday to say it's hot and miserable there and to see if I had a Covid test I could take to her house for her house sitter who has a fever and feels lousy. So I took the test over and she tested positive! Asked my sister if she is okay. Don't know how her friend got sick, she was at my sister's house for a week before she left for Europe.

I'm tired of the July heat. It usually cools down in the evening but it has been hot still at 10pm. I'm having a huge oak tree cut down in 2 weeks. Sad to have it down but it seems to be failing, bark is falling off. If the tree were to fall it would hit my house, probably my bedroom or if it falls the other way, it would hit the guest bedroom. I usually sleep in the guest room in the summer because it is the coolest room in the house. The master bedroom is an oven. But I've been sleeping in the family room. The couch isn't comfortable for sleeping so I'm having horrible nights.

Good luck with your diet. I feel for you. I was on a low fat diet once. I lost weight but my labs were worse and my B.P. I don't like toast without butter either and know I would not even want the toast without it. I'm not that thrilled with plain bread or jam. Do you consider jam to be healthier than butter? I would not want a plain baked potato either. We all have to cut back on calories somewhere though. Low fat works for some people. Hopefully your sister won't get Covid. It can have a long incubation period. We have to sleep under A/C in the bedroom. I don't like it but I can't sleep otherwise.

I like my toast with pecan butter or avocado. Too bad the sitter is positive!:( Hope she will be ok! I saw Europe was really hot! Sorry you have to play musical rooms from the heat. That must be difficult. I have had a lot of trees removed. They scare me. Two of them that are far back came uprooted in a storm recently too. One was really big so seeing the potential makes me nervous. All cleaned up now thank goodness. Have a great evening!:)

Thanks Morticia - I prefer butter on my toast to jam. I am using jam since it's allowed on my low fat diet. Actually I like butter and jam on the toast. They have about the same calories. I have always tried to eat low fat - in the old days it was eating chicken without the skin, now you can buy it that way. I started drinking fat free milk instead of whole milk or low fat. I use a lower fat mayonaisse if I ever need mayo. I also would ask for deli sandwiches without mayo. Those kinds of changes take out alot of calories. But I started eating more avocados, nuts and using olive oil. All good fats as far as cholesterol is concerned but doesn't work so well on a low fat diet. I will add them all back in eventually but not on the same day and instead of 20 raw almonds I may have 6. My house is hot but fans are everywhere so that helps. Thanks Navywife - I've lived in this house for 11 years and it's only been the last 2 or 3 years I started worrying about the big oak falling over because it is so close to my bedroom. And the arborist agreed the tree is failing. I've seen trees uprooted when we get heavy storms.

It’s sound like you have a good eating olan that works great for you.! Hope that oak don’t give you any trouble. The acorns alone can be a pain. I had an acorn fall once, bounced on the patio and broke my sliding door! Maybe you can find someone who could use the wood but licensed as well!

Thanks Nanvywife - 2 years ago an acorn fell and hit me on the forehead, pointy side down causing it to bleed. The tree removal service is going to cut up all the wood into pieces for firewood, costing $500 but my sister wants the wood so will pay me for it. There will be alot of wood!
