So spending time hanging around 174-170 for a while had me rethinking the RDI I have been using based on FS calculations. I looked up how to calculate my Basal Metabolic Rate on wikihow. It seems my FS calculation was a couple of hundred calories high. So now to adjust my intake again. It explains why I have been in more of a mainteinence mode instead of a loss mode. Still it has been good to know that finding a range that I can maintain is good. J

assuming my math is right, i just did mine and at my current weight says my BMR is 2233. I have been eating 1400 a day or less for first month here where i was 25 lbs heavier. i lowered it to 1200 goal (but some days i allow myself overage up to 1400 (but not every day). I almost feel like i am at a plateu but not quite plateu. Am i doing anything wrong (math wise)......Fyi i am trying to lose the weight back down to 170 (i know i can do it) , and i understand dieting short term is not good, so must be a life style change, and i dont want to get in the habit of having to exercise as part of that life change (being more active is fine but not a exercise regiment) so i want figure out how to lose the weight and then maintain it with a seditery lifestyle for now, later on i can recalculate calorie intake as i get to a lower weight with more energy levels (more active lifestyle). Any help on the BMR math would be great especially if i am off on my calculations (180cm, 113kg weight, age 43.)

I've been saying forever that BMR is one of the things that FS is horribly wrong about! Glad you got this settled.

Yes, you've got to go to a true calculator and figure out the calories, etc., to work toward. I used iifymDOTcom calculator (Thank, Puhpine!)
