The State of California has just released this list of allied healthcare professionals who are now authorized to administer the Covid Vaccine. Other states will probably be following suite . Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The vaccine is here— there are not enough qualified people to administer the vaccinations.— thus the new authorization detailing the now authorized allied medical personnel who can be called upon to give the vaccinations. I do not discuss this with people any longer. After more than a year, people are going to believe what they choose.to.

My state allowed veterinarians to start vaccinating a few months ago, so I've been volunteering weekly to help get it out to the populations that need it most. My town is lucky in that we have sufficient vaccine, but they are always looking for people to actually administer it. My region is fairly rural but houses an MD program, a DVM program, a DO program, and the RN and licensed technician programs to support those facilities, so there are MANY qualified vaccinators around, but I have yet to see a distribution point meet its requested vaccinator quota. The local pharmacies (CVS, mostly) are also tapping in to our volunteer list to help vaccinate as well. We aren't struggling, but we are only just keeping up. Supply means nothing if it isn't making its way into arms!

I’m doing what I can to help as well. So many people can’t get to a vaccination site for whatever reason despite there being so many available so we are now taking it to the streets. I

I mentioned on another thread on here somewhere earlier that I am truly concerned by the way the media and politicians have handled this outbreak, as this virus is behaving exactly the way many novel viruses do in any immunologically naive population. For respiratory coronaviruses in particular, it's more severe than most but not nearly on par with SARS CoV-1 and MERS in terms of case fatality (I thank my lucky stars for this every night - had MERS gone global, we'd be screwed). I do agree with you that coverage has been focused on fear mongering. That said, the evidence supports wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining social distancing as effective means of preventing transmission of *many* diseases. Further, I personally think it is an absolute miracle that we have not just *a* safe & effective vaccine available to us, but *several.* Three safe, effective vaccines rolling out to the public *for free* within a year. That is a massive public health victory. Enlisting the help of qualified professionals in fields beyond what is typical (MD/DO/RN/etc) is likewise a tremendous victory for the One Health approach to medicine, and helps to shift the existing paradigm of how disease and disease outbreaks are handled. These things are worth celebrating.

All of the so called vaccines are under clinical trials until 2023.... You, and anyone else who have got the needle, ARE the clinical trial. No thanks.. I will wait until after trials end in 2023 to see how many of the trial subjects survive.

Yes highly trained eye specialist doctors, why would you think they couldn't deal with a simple vaccine jab...?? Strange comment.
