Eat healthy and the pounds will shed themselves.

Fiber optic— healthy food is just as “fattening” as anything else if you OVEREAT it. There is no way around it, you have to control the amount of food that you eat and the calories you take in. And, you cannot exercise your way out of overconsumption .

that's why now for me. plethera of family health stuff. my dad is diabetic. they took 12 inches of vein out of his good leg to bypass the blockages I'm the bad one. 2 toes lost to gangrene the next year. heart stuff on both sides. no better time than now. I'm 43 and healthy. let's get healthier.

Amen to that. People in my family blames genetics on why they are so fat. I had been trying to change there mindset by trying to change the way I eat.

It's more than that. Plans for getting healthy after retirement is useless if you don't live to retirement.

My dad - who eats healthfully, doesn't smoke, is on the low side of overweight, and exercises regularly - had a massive heart attack in February. He ended up needing a heart transplant, the damage was so bad. His only sin was not going to the doctor regularly for routine health checks - he assumed (as we all did) that what he was doing was "healthy enough." Always be proactive about your health. He's doing much better now, but will be on heavy immunosuppressants and a cocktail of medications for life. Don't wait until it's bad before you do something about it. ❤️

Trying to have a healthier way of life is absolutely no guarantee of a long healthier life. There are elements that we cannot control, but we can do our part. That is also why I think it is good to strike a balance between a small bowl of ice cream and a shit load of kale. . Once again my mantra in life is portion control and moderation and activity that keeps my fuel burning engine burning with the maximum amount of fun.

Tell me about it. I played roulette with my health and lost. Now I'm in management mode.
