Kenna Morton's Journal, 18 Mar 21

I spoke to a friend from NC yesterday and caught up on what she has been up to. She is 69, a runner and biker— due to the weather they have dealt with and some personal health issue she did a lot of walking in 2020 instead of running— to a total of 1200 miles. I agreed to participate with her to the tune of 600 miles from now to the end of the year. I think that may be doable even if my classes resume in September, but it will be fun to see how close I get and it will be a point of common interest for us. Much of the walking/hiking I do is in steeper, hilly areas which slows things down and the other is that when I hike or walk I do so at everyone else’s pace rather than my own, so much more time consuming, but I’ll do it anyway.
