Last night right after I put a cough drop (Coldease) in my mouth I felt two things in my mouth. When I checked it was a filling or crown from my back last molar which was placed there in 2018-19. It doesn't hurt but I don't want to eat anything that might get stuck in it. I am waiting for a call back from my dentist. It looks like the cap was put over the previous filling. I had thought that the previous filling had been removed and replaced with a porcelain filling. I am having decaf with coconut oil, MCT oil, and heavy cream. The heat isn't hurting. I haven't had any cold yet. I don't know if the dentist works on Fridays. If necessary I could have just clear liquids until Monday. I made chicken soup yesterday and could strain out solids. I just got a return call from dental office. I have an appointment on Monday at 9:00 a.m. as dentist had surgery yesterday and is off today. Office said I could eat soft foods but I am thinking this is a good opportunity to have a semi fast. We will see.

So sorry about your tooth! Good plan to take it easy until you can see the dentist on Monday. Praying it won't be an expensive "fix!" Maybe they can just glue the crown back in place and save you $1,000+ to get a new one. Praying so.

Just eat what you feel comfortable eating and make sure you rinse well b4 bedtime so you don't get any bacteria growing which could infect the area or cause more cavity damage to enter the root. You may feel better rinsing after every meal. JMHO :)

They will clean it out good before they do anything else, but fasting is good for us, even with broth, etc. Glad you didn't swallow it.

I have one that already has a root canal and crown, that is fractured and now loose. It is two weeks till the surgeon can remove it and tell me if I am a candidate for an implant. It's hard to eat because it hurts and keeps moving.

This has been a year for crown and bridge replacement for many people I know, including myself. Bad timing.

Stay well and rinsing your mouth with a peroxide rinse will help prevent infection until you get to the Dentist.

I had crown re-glued yesterday. No cost. Crown placed just 14 months ago but 2nd molar is very short so not a lot of space to glue. So need to be more mindful of chewing and sticky foods and flossing tooth. My plan to just eat fluids over the weekend failed. I don't seem to have "it".
