Annabelle3117's Journal, 05 Jan 14

Alright, that's the last time I'm weighing in until Friday. I had to do it though lol. Looks like so far so good! I did skip out on the gym yesterday. I went grocery shopping on an empty stomach and almost died. In the check out line (which was a mile long because there's a snow storm coming) I was shaking. I was hoping to find a healthy snack, they often have peanuts, but only chocolate bars were available. I was able to resist the temptation, hooray!

I had spaghetti last night. I've always hated spaghetti because the serving size is 2oz dry. How the flippin crap is that supposed to help me when I make a giant pot of pasta?! So, like a genius, I weighed two ounces of dry pasta and cooked it separately. I weighed the cooked pasta and magically discovered that one serving of spaghetti is 5oz cooked. Hallelujah! Now we can all sleep peacefully once again.

Woke up with a headache, ugh! Feels like I drank a twelve pack last night. I guess I should have, if I'm going to pay the price for it anyway lol. Of course that wouldn't have helped me on the scale and we don't want that. Going to get some coffee, eat some breakfast, and head to the gym before the snow starts flying.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day :-)

Thank you much Lynn, it wasnt easy lol. I workded it extra hard CR. So hard I almost met my maker lol. That couch to 5k is no joke. I only totaled eight minutes of run time but son of a buscuit that was hard. Kind of funny because i can do five miles with resistance on the elliptical like its nothing, but running is an entirely different ball game. Lungs are on fire. Hope it gets easier! :-) Feeling accomplished!

WOW! GREAT NEW LOW! Nice work, Yo! And I totally agree... that dry spaghetti (or any pasta thing) is a real pain. The other thing I hate is when a package of something has "about 2.5 servings", and you check and it is really 2.13 or some crazy number. Grrrr.

Good for you on the running - I never could run - not even when I was younger. My lungs would be on fire and I would always get a stitch in my side. You've got more guts than me!

Hey - on the pasta - since I'm married to an Italian... They say 100 g dry is one serving, I like that FS counts 85 g dry as a serving. If you want to low carb it, then do max 1/2 of an 85 g serving. Sorry don't know the ounces. Italian Italians serve very little pasta per serving FYI

Yolanda, I will say that I am so happy I do not own a scale. I would drive myself insane with the daily ups and downs with a scale. I already lose my mind at the thought that my once a month weigh in will go badly. My daughter who is truly a fitness fanatic told me that she does not get on the scale but goes my measurements. Sounds great but I don't think I've lost enough yet to start pulling out measuring tape. I do appreciate reading how committed you are to being the best you that you can be and I am trying very hard to do the same. Take care and have a great day! Bea

I think youre doing a great job Bea! Never too soon to start taking measurements, besides you have to have a starting point to compare. I measure monthly, always a better indicator than pounds. I do get a little crazy with the scale some times, but the ups and downs dont bother me nearly as bad as it used to. The way I see it is that i can only do what i can do, the rest will follow. Your comments always cheer me up! Thank you for the pasta info Lynn! Ive never been a runner, but ive always wantedto be. This year im going to make it happen. By my one year anniversary (of starting a new healthy lifestyle) i should be able to run a thirty minute-ish 5k. It will be a great milestone in my journey. Hopefully I will have hit my 100lb loss too. :-) Thankyou both for the constant love & support, youre the best!
