"Diablo-hideous" Friday :P. Today was a good reminder that we should always remain humble. DP and I saw a guy who was in great shape before quarantine. Today he looked totally different and that is putting it nicely. I feel bad but it made me feel accomplished if that's the correct word, since I suspect him of steroid use. I feel that most younger guys who resort to drugs lose it all, not just their focus when they stop. They take a shortcut and end up not having half of the knowledge necessary to maintain such a physique. On the bright side he lost all of his shoulder and upper back acne...

Love the back pic. Is that yesterday because I saw it's your profile pic today. Can't remember what you wore to the gym. I truly look at no one but me usually and I am pretty unobservant- but Diablo is right. This kid looked remarkably different. Even I would have noticed- and that is saying a lot.

1.0, Main coon, and Jheeden, thanks! Yes, Main, I don't want to go through heart surgery before 50 or stick a needle anywhere for the rest of my life so no thanks to that. Plus, illegal drug use is frowned upon in my line of work, lol!

There is some awesome hard-earned muscle!! I think you can always tell when there are drugs involved. Muscle mass looks way better and more proportional when natural. Always impressed by you and DP! You two are major goals. 🙌🏻

You may get tired of me saying this Di but I think this is the most defined I’ve seen you? Lol. Ever wonder if a break in routine and maybe a focus on a few other muscles could somehow cause a more defined YOU at a later date? Kind of like cross training? Looking good man💪!

Newname and Mountainman, gracias! 60pack, it seems that in some ways I do seem more defined and in others not so much. I noticed a lot of veins in my calves that I've never seen before, and other areas like my bicep here looks more veiny as well, but the stomach is holding more fat than when I was 178 pounds. There is no way I gained that much muscle so, overall I think I am at a higher body fat than then but must be gaining muscle where there was less previously that is tricking the eye. My scale put me at 20% body fat today. It was ~17 percent when I was 9 pounds lighter.

I never thought that deep squats would work the calves but they are definitely more sore than they used to get, and like I said, more veiny. I'll keep the squats going, they are fun, even if they hurt more than anything else, haha! No pain no gain! It's the good kind of pain.

Today, during squats, this older man was watching me like he wanted to tell me that what he was witnessing was hurting him to watch. I was practically sitting on the ground at the bottom. It's possible on the smith machine without falling over. I see him at PF all the time but he have never stared until today, haha

So, I was going to talk to you about that. You should try going lighter and deeper, leave your ego at the door for some of your workouts. I think that always chasing the big weights is what started my back issues and I hate to see anyone go through that. It's the worst pain. Also, for size, the weight isn't all it's chalked up to be, range of motion may be even more important. My legs are bigger and look better now than when I was squatting 470 pounds for 10 reps at parallel. The deep squats take some flexibility in the ankles and I think the deep leg presses helped me achieve the flexibility.

Looking great! And, yes, my husband and I saw so many lose it all when they used steroids back when he was training/fighting.
