LTHOMP56's Journal, 25 Jul 20

I'm a CNA and we all had to take a mandatory Covid test Tues. We took one about a month ago so no big deal until I get a phone call today saying I tested positive . I haven't had any symptoms but am noticing a slight sore throat but with drainage from back of my throat . I do have seasonal allergies so I wouldn't of thought anything about it. I really need prayers because it's just me and my husband. He has COPD and I've been so worried he would catch it. I can't quarantine myself from him because I'm the one who does all the cooking and stuff. I'm just praying my symptoms stay minimal and he doesn't catch it. To be honest just hearing the words testing postitive scares me to death.

I know the feeling I tested positive June 22 and I am still having issuey symptoms were mild sore throat, a really bad headache,a little cough, runny nose, body aches. A week later I lost my sense of smell and taste. A week later I started wheezing not having trouble getting air in just wheezing and my ribs and back have been extremely sore from the start this past week my ribs and back have been worse so the Dr gave me some steroids to try I don't know if they will help but who knows. I have been in my house since 6-15-20 because before covid I had cellulitis so Its been a little worrisome. I'm still feeling yucky and on Monday if I'm not better I get to go get tested again. I'm in that category of "long haulers" so I hope everything goes well for you and your family I'm sending prayers to you!

I think you should stay as far away from him as you can because I don't think whether someone's symptoms are mild has any bearing on whether the virus gets transmitted. Maybe I'm wrong but part of the issue is people being asymptomatic and giving it to others. Hope you are well soon!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. Your hubby should get tested, especially since he is higher risk due to COPD. You should wear a mask even in the home and didstance as much as possible from him, at least until you know for sure. This way, you can keep him safe if he has not already contracted it. Again, my prayers are with you both.

The COVID-19 test is not a fun experience. I have had 6 of them. When you work in health care this is the new normal every Tuesday mandatory testing. I will keep you in my prayers. Try to stay as far away from your hubby as possible, and like others have said wear a mask at all times when in close contact.....
