Well overthinking is a dangerous thing as is the internet and fitness articles. Came across this workout and thought I’d try until end of July. A twice a week deal. See if there’s any merit to it.
each exercise should be performed about 90-120 seconds each to failure and each rep should be 10-20 seconds done slowly.
Reworked order of exercises: Pull up Weighted squat Push up or bench Bent over row Overhead press

That sounds like it’ll be effective!! Best of luck with the new routine, BR! 💪🏻

Thanks newname. Going slowly, essentially 5-10 seconds down then 5-10 seconds up supposedly calls into play more slow twitch muscles. Additionally, it’s way harder than I thought it would be. Will just see. I always like mixing things up.

It sounds so intense, BR! Please let us know how you like it. I was reading about how you’re always supposed to be confusing your body with new surprise workouts for best results, so I definitely think you’re onto something! 🤞🏻💪🏻

will do, Newname, i agree with the body confusion aspect of working out that you read ... i think i am more desperate than anything, to shake up some of my routines and get to the fat. i am curious what real gainers like diablo, etc. might have to say about this method. if i can find the medium article for it i will post it(based on "Body by Science", i think, which i have never read).

Certainly Moopie! This is a gym workout but could be a home workout too.

Hmmm... Then you repeat this cycle for 30 minutes to an hour? How did it go?

Hey DP. Nope. It just the one time through. It goes about 12 minutes total. It is hard. The very slow reps are harder than you’d think.

Thanks HCB and Lonnie. I feel like I’m a failure because I struggle doing these super slow reps 9-12 times. Pull-ups are limited to 6 It’s crazy how gassed I get.

Don't feel like a failure. I'm sure it's difficult. I don't do slow reps. Hope you didn't think I was being an ass. I just thought it was done repeatedly. 😉💪🏼

No not at all DP. I’m use to 45 minute sessions too. Just giving this a try to see if engaging slow twitch muscles does encourage them to grow. The article suggests it’s the rest and repair that enable the growth as well.
